Networking Question

Hello,

I just got a PS3 this week and have it all set up my home network including PS3 Media Server. One question, should I be able to see the HD on the PS3 on the network so I can copy media files etc. onto it? Does the PS3 allow this?

Nope, you can't see your internal PS3 HDD on any network.

You should be able to see your PC's shared folders via the PS3 MS interface on the XMB.

Thanks for the swift reply. I must say I am very impressed so far with the PS3 both as a media server and a games console. I am so glad I bought the PS3 rather than an Apple TV

So is it possible to copy content from a USB stick or drive onto the PS3's HD? Conversely how can I back up purchased content from the PS3?

Yes as long as the USB device is Fat32 formatted.

To back up content stored on the PS3 there is a Backup utility in system settings on the XMB
