I have been successfully streaming from my PC to my PS3 for some time.
Now my son has recently acquired a PS3 (he doesn’t live here with me) but has a problem with streaming stuff from his PC.
PS3 Media Server can see the PS3 but no media servers are appearing on the PS3 menu.
Thing is that my PC works with his setup (I can stream photos etc to his PS3 via his router) and his PC works with my PS3 over here at my house.
So the problem appears to be something related to the connection uniquely between his PC and/or his router and his PS3. (His PC must be able to communicate with his router because he can access the internet OK)
These symptoms surely must give a clue as to what is happening (or not happening!) There appears to be some conflict somewhere! I wonder if anyone can see the light here?!
We’ve tried forcing the port (to 5005) to no avail.
Is it to do with the IP addresses perhaps?
Why is his PS3 (but not my PS3) having a problem with this specific PC?
Any help very gratefully received. |
Try turning off ALL firewall's inc the windows one. see if it connects then.
Also have a look at the trace log (C:\Program files\PS3 Media Server\debug.log) as this will usually give you some clues...
