DNLA Compliant File Names

I am using PS3 Media Server and for ages I was wondering why there was an asterix beside all of my FLAC files.

Well I stumbled across this from the Sony site:

PS3™ | Media Server Connection

Quote:
File names for data that is stored on servers that are not compliant with DLNA may have an asterisk appended to the file name. In some cases, these files cannot be played on the PS3™ system. Also, even if the files can be played on the PS3™ system, it might not be possible to play the files on other devices.
Now all well and good except I can't find anything anywhere explaining what I need to do to change the filename structure and ensure DNLA compliance.

Does anybody have any tips?

Think your in for a long haul.

EVERY single file i have on my Media Server appears with a * next to the file name. Even those that are fully compatible with the PS3.

Even recall reading the developer of PS3Ms saying don't worry about it..just one of those things with the PS3 DLNA implementation
