Sound problems in PS3 media server

Hi there. I have problems with the sound of some avi's. The volume is really low, but if I set it to 1.5 speed the sound is normal. It's driving me nuts... either I turn the volume right up and hope I remember to turn out down again before switching to TV and deafening everyone or watch some films at 1.5 speed

can anyone help?
