External Hard Drive Folder Problem

I have a WD 1TB USB external hard drive with my movies, pictures, music, etc stored on it

To avoid having to pressing triangle and 'display all' I have renamed the appropriate folders on the external hard drive to MUSIC,VIDEO and PHOTO

However when I connect it the PS3 is still shows the old names of Videos and Pictures - hence it will not access the correct folder. I tried renaming the folders to something completely different and renaming again but it still does not change on the PS3.

Any ideas how I can remedy this?

Re: External Hard Drive Folder Problem

Have you tried making new folders and copying everything into them?

Re: External Hard Drive Folder Problem

I guess I was hoping this might have been a known problem with an easier solution.

I'll try with the photos first as I don't fancy having to copy about 400GB of movie files if it won't solve the problem

Thanks

Dave

Re: External Hard Drive Folder Problem

Why copy them? Just move them. Creating a new folder and moving the files into it should take seconds

Re: External Hard Drive Folder Problem

Surely you still need to scroll etc, even if you've named your folders correctly ?

Re: External Hard Drive Folder Problem

Yep but I don't need to scroll through the root directory first

It is (was) a very trivial thing but was starting to annoy me
