PS3 DVD playing issues

I have a new PS3 slim and it freezes the dvd after about 45 mins. Thes are DVD+R burned movies. Is there something I can do to resolve this or am I going to have to buy a cheap DVD player to watch my Burned movies on.
Thanks

Re: PS3 DVD playing issues

The brand of DVD+R that you use might be the problem. I use Sony DVD+R's all the time now and haven't had any problems. When I had a PS2 many things wouldn't work if you used other brands but the Sony DVD's always gave good results. Might just be a coincidence but it worked for me

Re: PS3 DVD playing issues

Are these movies you've done a straight copy of or are they AVI's?

If they are AVI's and you still have the source AVI on your PC then forget DVD's and just put them on a USB Stick. Far easier.

Re: PS3 DVD playing issues

I use Sony+R DVDs but they all still freeze. I have several 100s of movies and now I can't get them to play more than half way thru. Seems like if they would play that long then it should play all the way.
Thanks Terry
