Re: Army Of Two - Play And Help Thread

Thats interesting. In some of the reviews I've read about AoT is that the AI could be a little more intelligent. It can often drag you quite some distance away before healing you, and alternatively it might try to heal you in the midst of gunfire!?

So they concentrated more on the single player game when this is supposed to be a title that made co-op its own genre? Strange.

If the AI partner was a bit dumb and just did what I basically told him and the co-op was implemented well then I really would have bought this game ages ago. Heck I might have even preordered it!

Re: Army Of Two - Play And Help Thread

Could any issues with comms in game not be down to a port needing to be open?

I know there are general recommended ports, but a few games need a few different ones.

I'm certain that Ea will sort this servers out.

I found that the AI was very good to be honest.

Re: Army Of Two - Play And Help Thread

I think Avolee opened all the suggested ports that were in the manual for the game, but I think he still found issues. I was interested in your response more for confirmation, I don't expect there to be a difference, I'm sure Avolee's got a Nat2 network status.

If EA patch it, and there is a drop in price I'll buy it. Until then no more interest from me!

Re: Army Of Two - Play And Help Thread

i was on it again last night and what struck me was that they talked about the delay recently, they said it was to take out some of the vehicle sections and tidy it up a bit, so imagine the scene last night where the cut scene is leading upto a hovercraft section, then i have to transport a man along a road to a checkpoint. the cut scene finished with no hovercraft section, i just appear on dry land and when i finally get the man, there`s no transporting him to the checkpoint, a helicopter appears and takes him away. if they are gonna remove sections, they could at least try and make the story fit the new changes.

the thing is the game has a few things that annoy, but it does grow on you. some of the ideas like one of you grabbing a car door and using it to shield the other are good. the sad thing is the online chat is garbage and renders the multiplayer useless. if they patch it, i`d keep it as its something different.

Another thing, I'm useless at the game but I do try

I've got a new Sony headset so I'll be trying that tonight.
i listed the ports a couple of post`s back. they are in the manual. as for time, i`ll be on in the next 15 mins. i must admit the ai is quite good, as for the healing, it does a good job normally of getting you to cover.

No, basically I always check a persons trader rating when they make me an offer, If I see that they have completed trades and not left feedback I won't deal with them.

The online (or lack of) is rubbish.

I'm gonna give it one more week, if it's not sorted then this game is getting sold.

Well i've put it up for sale !

Shame good game , but could have been better if online side worked .
Think they spent too much time on the cutscenes. ( Credit due though best on PS3 so far ).

there seems to be a denial on the ea forums that anything is wrong.

edit:

just posted on the ea forums,

Hey everyone,

As you know, many people are having trouble with the online aspects of Army of Two. Whether it be lag, disconnections or the inability to connect at all, you've probebely seen posts about them here. Well, EA has been listening so don't you worry. They have been working with the developers to figure out what the source of the problem is, and are looking to fix it up with a patch some time in the near future.

Right now they are doing extensive testing on the servers to find a solution to the problems we're encountering on the consumer end. There will be an official announcement regarding what will be fixed and when coming within the next few days. Until this time, please post the problems you are encountering with as much detail as possible in the appropriate stickied thread. This will help them solve the problem faster! "

I'm so tempted but I just know that I'll regret it when they patch it.

I bought the game for the online aspect so it's a shame to get rid before I've tried it.

It's even more of a shame that EA couldn't get the online aspect working on launch

I had just been on the ea forums to find out whether people were having problems and noticed that post too.

Heres hoping they fix it soon.

I managed to join one public game and they guy quit 30secs in.

For a co-op based game the options are limited, why can't you jump in on someones campaign mode (they have it on UT3)
