I'd really like to make this post bigger and more accurate. Maybe it has already been done but I don't know yet. If this is the wrong place to ask, please tell me where should I start looking.

I really like so far the "working" and "not working" section under 480i (pal and ntsc) but why there aren't any PSX games other than Mortal Kombat? I learned the hard way EU FFVII doesn't work under a USA PS3 (but it does works under my USA PSP). Also they don't say if the PSX games work with HDTV. 2 friends of mine tried my EU FFVII on american PS3 on HDTV's and neither worked (1080i and 1080p). Does EU GTA:LC works under HDTV's?

Also I'd like to start a wishlist. So people can expect an "in progress" section instead of looking forever. Maybe it's too much work for an AVF post. Maybe it should be on Wikipedia or maybe it's own Wiki.

I'm looking for the better solution to this idea I have. Any suggestion idea (either good or bad) will be greatly appreciated.

to be completely honest, your looking at (to my knowledge) the most complete and frequently updated list in the world. The list is compiled by myself, but the data comes from the posters (I made a list in the first post) in this thread. Without them there would be a very short list (about 30 games) I don't think there's much of a way to improve it. Games are bought by people to play, not to put on this list. I can't see much point in a wishlist. It would simply comprise the games that aren't in the first post (which serves the purpose of an anti-wishlist if you like). I can't think of a single request which has got an answer.

I don't understand the need for an 'in progress' list. There's no such thing. The game is either:

1) Not checked = NOT IN THE LIST
2) Checked to be working or not = IN THE LIST.

Requests serve one function. Shifting the risk of buying a game that won't work on your console to someone else. If your not willing to risk it and share your knowledge that's up to you. But don't ask others to do it.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the info on FFVII. I'll add it to the list. You may just have saved someone elses money. You're information on PSX games not working in HD is very interesting. I will investigate. I imagine it's because it's trying to switch to 720p 50hz, or 1080i 50Hz or 1080p 50Hz, none of which are supported on US ps3s.

edit - if you see an innaccuracy please pm me. I'll fix it asap.

thanks for the reply!

Thank you so much for the replay. You gave me a different point of view and I agree with you. I'm wondering if the games in the list are compatible in 460 AND 1080, because you don't mention if it does or if it doesn't. Do you know if GTA (any version) or any other PSX version works in HDTV's?

Also I agree this is by far the most complete guide. It has saved me some bucks so far. The request proposal was not to send the risk to someone else, maybe I didn't express myself very well.

Let's imagine someone in USA has an american Joe Danger and he has a friend in UK which can try this out, without spending cash. Thus, creating a new entry and a "IN PROGRESS" section.

Again, it was just an idea.

By the way, UK God Of War Collection and SSF4 does work on pal 480 US-PS3.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Maybe I'll give a risky try to Joe Danger and see what happens. You'll be hearing from me when this happens.

I think the idea of tidying it up and making it a bit more comprehensive is a great one. But I think an In progress list might be too awkward to keep track of, and if people then don't deliver on a promise, etc. I didn't mean to shoot down your ideas, I just don't think they are practical to achieve. We don't have a team of people doing it, just a few handfuls of people who when they remember add the info on here.

A friend of mine bought SF4 (not super) alternate costumes. They didn't work with my SSF4 game. I don't know if it's difference in region or game region or what. Any one else had this trouble?

i would imagine you would need to buy the Super addons for Super, and normal addons for normal, but who knows for sure :S

As a matter fact no. The PSN store says so, and my friend has the SSF4 successfully using the original SF4 addons. Has anyone successfully shared the SF4 addons? Even if they are from the same region?

sorry, I can't help there. The only experience I've had with DLC across regions is Folklore. I have a US version and had to get the US dlc, as the UK didnt work with it.

I guess if you want addons from the UK store, you need the UK game. Probably because the games codes are ES (as in BLES or BCES) for uk and US (as in BCUS or BLUS) for the US games. I suppose the game only looks for DLC with the corresponding code.

Actually I’ve had some experience with this.
The important thing is the PAL/NTSC bit.
I've accessed dlc from UK, Europe and Australia for use with a PAL game.
I think you'll be OK with the NTSC equivalents as long as you stick to countries with Romanised languages (so don't try Japanese dlc with a US game for example).

One thing to be aware of is that SCEE reuse dlc codes. So if it’s a physical card in one country it'll be an email somewhere else. So if you get a code from one part of the world it might have been used where you are so you'll have to tour the various PSNs to find out where to redeem it.

If the code is entered through the game then there is no restriction that I’ve found with the exception of Dragon Age: Origins.
That was a right pain. You enter the codes through the game but they are actually PSN downloads in disguise so if you are redeeming them in an account attached to the wrong PSN area then it will accept the code but release it from the wrong store. So you'll have to get EA customer service involved and they have no idea about any of this...
