I really like so far the "working" and "not working" section under 480i (pal and ntsc) but why there aren't any PSX games other than Mortal Kombat? I learned the hard way EU FFVII doesn't work under a USA PS3 (but it does works under my USA PSP). Also they don't say if the PSX games work with HDTV. 2 friends of mine tried my EU FFVII on american PS3 on HDTV's and neither worked (1080i and 1080p). Does EU GTA:LC works under HDTV's?
Also I'd like to start a wishlist. So people can expect an "in progress" section instead of looking forever. Maybe it's too much work for an AVF post. Maybe it should be on Wikipedia or maybe it's own Wiki.
I'm looking for the better solution to this idea I have. Any suggestion idea (either good or bad) will be greatly appreciated. |
to be completely honest, your looking at (to my knowledge) the most complete and frequently updated list in the world. The list is compiled by myself, but the data comes from the posters (I made a list in the first post) in this thread. Without them there would be a very short list (about 30 games) I don't think there's much of a way to improve it. Games are bought by people to play, not to put on this list. I can't see much point in a wishlist. It would simply comprise the games that aren't in the first post (which serves the purpose of an anti-wishlist if you like). I can't think of a single request which has got an answer.
I don't understand the need for an 'in progress' list. There's no such thing. The game is either:
1) Not checked = NOT IN THE LIST
2) Checked to be working or not = IN THE LIST.
Requests serve one function. Shifting the risk of buying a game that won't work on your console to someone else. If your not willing to risk it and share your knowledge that's up to you. But don't ask others to do it.
Anyway, thanks for sharing the info on FFVII. I'll add it to the list. You may just have saved someone elses money. You're information on PSX games not working in HD is very interesting. I will investigate. I imagine it's because it's trying to switch to 720p 50hz, or 1080i 50Hz or 1080p 50Hz, none of which are supported on US ps3s.
edit - if you see an innaccuracy please pm me. I'll fix it asap.
