New to PS3 which exclusives to play?

Ok just bought my 1st PS3 and want to work my way through the exclusives so i just got the 1st uncharted and Heavy Rain but i was wondering about the others and if i should work my way through them as the guy was saying for example the 1st Resistance is rubbish you should play the next one.
So what games would you recommend and shoudl i be playing through all the games in a series such as resistance, uncharted, infamous, etc?

uncharted series
Killzone series
God of war collections

I'd start off with those if your wanting to play exclusives before cross platform games.

Agree to
Resistance series
Killzone series
Uncharted series

I've had mine a while, don't play much but still playing some, btw I have KZ3 for sale on PS3 classifieds

Also get GT5, even if just for a blast, it'd involved game but good.

Little big planet, son plays on this, loads of free downloads etc.

Thanks guys my plan was to work through each of the series but other than uncharted series the guy was insistent the others before their latest release weren't worth playing! Got uncharted, heavy rain and gt5 to keep me going.

Got to say the ps3 controller will take some getting used too the triggers seem to go back really far think some of those extenders may need to be purchased! The analogue sticks also have a lot of movement compared to the 360 controller!

I agree the 1st in a series might look a bit old now, eg resistance.

I've just recently finished resistance, yes compared to today's games they don't look as good, and it doesn't have trophies in, but I wanted to start from the beginning. The game is from 2007 I think, I remember seeing it in a store and being wowed, made me buy a PS3.

It's cheap, may as well buy it 2nd hand, try it....

I came from a 360 and yes the controller is smaller, but better in my opinion. Just play loads to get used to it!

I will never understand why people specifically go for 'exclusives'. A good game is a good game regardless of whether it is only available for one console, or it's available for all of them

Because I've played all the others/cross platforms games I wanted to play on my 360 when I had that. Why would I buy/swap it for a ps3 and play those games again an a different console?

Ok fair point but you didn't mention that previously. I wasn't having a dig at you & sorry if it seemed that I was. It's just something that has baffled me quite a bit, many many people post about exclusives. If a lot of them are in the same boat as you it is an explanation. Ta

Also consider the ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD collection. They may be PS2 games with better graphics & framerate, but they are still amazing games.

Oh, & Journey off the PSN Store has been getting rave reviews everywhere, but I haven't tried that one yet.

Yeah all pretty much mentioned but the resistance series is good and i enjoyed all of them.

Uncharted is a no brainer.
Metal gear Solid 4 is brilliant
Demons Souls - Tough as nails but the best game ive played on the PS3
