Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

I have started a thread for reviews here. It's going to be a public poll as all polls are required to be on these forums. Please don't rate the game until you have played it sufficiently enough to be in a position to give it a score. Remember all scores will be public so please keep that in mind. Thanks.

Plus i want to know if its as good as COD4.

Thanks for making sure to use the new correct ratings system and making the poll public as it is supposed to be.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

I'm between 8/10 and 9/10. Should I go for 8 or 9, hmm...I'll go for 9/10. Great single player game with some good humour in there, Haggard is so funny. The online game is real good fun. I'm looking forward to more online options, maps etc. I don't play online much. I'm more of just a single player guy, but I can see myself playing BF:BC online quite a lot. I loved BF2 on the PC and BF:BC has the same sort of feeling for me. Looking forward to seeing how it is improved with patches and updates.

Great game!

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

Well.. Hmmm. it certainly aint great, but its not bad either....

I gave it a seven.

As a fan of battlefield 2 on the PC, I can see they've tried to incorporate SOME of the gameplay from that and lets face it BF2 on PC probably wouldn't work too well on the consoles.

I think things may get more interesting when the new mode comes out on multiplayer.

I think this game is very good, so an eight for me. Nothing too original but the game is still very enjoyable. Graphics good (not in COD4's league though) and the sound is superb (probably better than COD4).

Worth mentioning this game has THE best trailers I have ever seen for a game.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

Just finshed the single player modes and have put in quite a few hours online now so think i done enough to give the game a ratiing.

The single player mode was ok, nothing special, didn't think there was any stand out parts of it that would make me want play through it again.

Multi-player is great fun though, buildings blowing up everwhere and lots of carnage in general. Getting peoples dog tags is great fun and a very good idea. Comms do need sorting though as 4 players at a time isn't enough for my liking.

Overall i'd give this an 8/10.

10 for me, i really wasnt expecting much, but this game just blew me away, to me this is so much more involving than the often sterile COD4, no set route or anything just blow stuff up !

Online is fantasticly good fun, i love it when a sniper is sitting in a building, in cod4 you would have to storm the building, this, just blow a hole in the side and shoot em, simply fantastic and when the patch comes, even better !

This game is miles better then cod4. i dont know why soo many people like cod4. its just a generic fps game with rubbish gun sounds. this game is more unique and different because it has tanks, heli's, destructable enviornment and the best sound effects i have ever heard from a fps game

It's a very good online game...I think it's difficult to compare it to COD4 as they are quite different really.

As askew's say's at the moment it lacks real clan support but I enjoy still it, it's makes a nice diversion from COD4 every now and then

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

I voted 9/10. It's better than CoD4 for me (which I gave 8/10), but it's not perfect. No game has had me shouting at the TV so much in ages

It's a really good online game most of the time, but when you find yourself in a decent squad you can really see how good it can be as you become an unstoppable force on the battlefield, working together. When the squad patch comes we'll be able to experience this feeling in every single game which should be awesome (especially if FutureTech/Lol2Funny is in your squad )

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

Great game,apart from one negative.
There doesn't appear to be any team balancing.
If you happen to join a game where your team is full of newbies and the other team is all hardened pros, it gets very one sided.
You would expect when the next game starts the server would shuffle the teams, but you end up game after game where all the members of one team are scoring less than a hundred, and the other team members are sitting on four hundred each !

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

Great game 9/10 could well be a 10/10 if the patch/es are good. The maps are huge, great distruction. PLenty of fun. Tanks - Helis - boats - artillery, what more could you ask?

A new angle to COD4.

Agree with the balancing
Free map updates would great
Voice coms/ private chat
Clans
Private games
Grenade launcher seems to be useless? Perhaps thats more to do with my ability!?

have this game for a while now and still really enjoying it on multiplayer.
BTW there has been a new update on this which adds some new maps including a golf course battle (with golf carts !!).

Must say it is nice to see a developer giving new maps away for free on an update rather than charging for every new addition. Well done EA

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

i gave it a 9/10 for me. the only let down is the squad set ups as a bf2, 2142 and so on vet this was a let down, and i agree with earlier posts about balancing teams would be a fairer setup.
i also love the fact that the snipers do blend well in the scenery and make it hard for people to pick you out. and why the hell cant you lay down in the game

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

After getting a new PS3 and subsequently the game now doesn't freeze I've decided to vote and say my piece.

Best fps on the PS3 for me....at least until I see Killzone 2. Scale of maps and intensity of battles is immense, add into that the destructible environments and it brings a whole new tactical slant to the game. For example, the other night I was on the defenders side...defending the gold crates from a very slick outfit, they had us pegged back most of the game and we kept them at bay for most too until the alarm went off that a charge had been set so someone had managed to sneak in. Instead of turning round and running thru the corridors most likely to be met with his machine gun fire I turned round, flicked grenade launcher on and took out the wall of the room he was hiding in.....promptly 3 of us took him out and defused the bomb. That's Bad Company.

You factor is sound and it completes the package for me, amazing. Thru a decent 5.1 setup the crack of gun fire around you, explosions...rumblings of tanks nearby wobbling your controller about. Oh and don't have your speakers too loud if you planning on firing in a room, they have done a really good job with accoustics.

Now if the known bugs regarding mics were sorted and there was a decent clan system this would get a 10 without hesitation, but as it stands it's a 9, because the rest of the game is so strong and IMO puts CoD4/5 in their places as it does everything they do (level ups/weapon unlocks/Trophies & in game badges) but bigger, badder and better.

At £18 now it is a bargain too, every fps fan should check it out.

Re: Battlefield: Bad Company PS3 Reviews

Excellent game, as said before a steal at £18. The maps are brilliant, graphics great and sound is amazing too.

Jumping into a match is excellent too and deserves a mention, and the fact that it just continues is the way all shooters should be done, no back to the lobby to find your next match.

Loads of variety with the vehicles and lots of people on the battlefield give it an epic feel.

9/10

I agree it's a great game. I just wish it was more realistic i.e. no more 50 round magazines in M16 etc, enemy's die after 4-5 bullets not 25 and .50 cal MG/sniper rifle kill in one shot (not just head) apart from that Its properly my favourite game.

Really looking forward to the next one, anyone heard anything about it?

Gave it a 6/10. It is above average but the same things has been done better IMO so is therefore, I feel a fair reflection. On line is pretty good but again has been done better. Agree with most of the comments regarding the amount of hits it takes to kill a opponent and also the hit accuracy seems off sometimes. Still worth playing though!!
