Re: Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

Outstanding. Simple as.

The game has the team work and covers system down to pat, makes CoD4 seem antiquated in the fact you have to step into the open to get clear shots of ppl.

Yes there are a few bugs, but this, IMO, doesn't detract away from the game whatsoever, plenty of weapons, unlockables, promotion ranks. Totally customise your character and big varied levels.

Oh and the biggy! In game xmb messaging system!!! Hurrah! Bloody godsend!!

Re: Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

As Tiger says, this game is great. I was initially put off by reviews. But this game looks great and plays even better.

I'll give it a bit more play time before voting but so far it's an 8 or 9

Can't vote yet as it's not arrived yet. (just got it for £28.98 from gamestation)

Just been reading the views from the 360 version and they aren't happy with it at all, saying it's merely an add on from the 1st game.

Wonder if it's due to them having the first one for ages and not many people getting the 1st one for the PS3??

Will vote asap.

From what I've read it is basically an add on or an extension of the original game and not an entirely new game in it's own right. Since the original game was out much earlier on the 360 with a lot more 360 owners buying it I guess there are likely to be a lot more of them who are unhappy with it. I suspect the first game didn't sell that well on the PS3 so there are probably going to be a lot less PS3 owners complaining about the game.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

I have not voted yet will do after giving it a bit more gametime. But having owned 3 copies of the original (2 on 360 and 1 on Ps3 - don't ask!) I love it so far. Had a few problems with the on-line, could not get into games or got booted from games. But otherwise, loving it. 8 so far for me.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

gave it an 8. i love the r6 games and although it`s not too dissimilar to the first, it`s the gameplay that puts it apart from the other games in this genre. yes there are a couple of teething problems online, but every game with a major online component seems to have them on launch. cod4, halo3, graw2 all had theyre own problems so i`m not too worried they wont sort them out.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

Below Average! single player is fine.......just far too many bugs and glitches in online. only 3 spawns , set spawn zones, lag, gun ratings that dont actually reflect the guns being used ( the FAMAS is actually better than the stats say). could go on with online issues but i'm already bored......

And the fact that they've had plenty of time to sort the online issues before it even came out and knowing what the issues with the first game were- it looks like the 'testers' have done bugger all and sat on there fat arses waiting for their pay checks to come in. Ubisoft = joke!!

i think its unfair atm to give a review due to the teething prblems with the online aspect, soon as they sort out the online itl be a 9.5/10.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

I'll give this a review in 2 weeks. First impressions are pretty grand, but like a good looking women, after that first impression if theres no substance it doesn't really matter much. And since I think the substance is really on the online side I'm waiting for it to become more viable and acceptable.

But really i'm just posting here to show a comparison vid; try not to take it too seriously because the correct tv setup can help, but I think the PS3 version looks better to me.

Why? Why are you posting a comparison video for the 360 and the PS3? This thread is for posting views on R6V2 on the PS3 not for fanboys doing Sonys bidding.

Anyhow on topic Ive had this game since Thursday and so far managed approx 1/2 hour online (overall, not in one game) due to Ubisofts servers being as much use as a chocolate fireguard. 'A couple of teething problems' frankly doesnt cut it. At the moment I am unable to review this game properly as I cant get on to play it. R6V1 had plenty of bugs and problems, looking at Ubisofts website will reveal thousands of unhappy punters with promises/maybes/rumours of patches coming out which never materialised. Its a disgrace and if the problems arent sorted soon Im selling this game on. Such a shame.

Err..well isn't that the point mate. Reviewing "R6V2 on the PS3", don't you think its of interest to know how well Vegas 2 compares to the 360 version considering the comparison of Vegas 1 on both platforms showed the PS3 version lacked in many ways.

Please refrain from using the term fanboy as it is frowned upon here. Also if you don't have some thing constructive to say then please don't say it. If you have an issue that needs resolving then use the report post feature rather then having a go at another forum member which in this case was uncalled for anyway. This is just a warning and next time you may end up getting an infraction.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

I gotta say looking at that video is worthwile. It was linked/quoted in the Preview thread that the PS3 was the substandard vserion with worse textures and worse framerate, alot could be put off with that statement, but that video shows it to complete BS. I've just looked at the site that originally made that statement and they have side by side shots which totally go against what they originally said either blind or overtly one sided....

If anything the PS3 version looks better, not as dark and the lighting is superior to the point the 360 version looks bland. Is totally relevant for those with both systems who don't know which version to get.

This game is clearly half finished and should never have been released in its current state. Buggy and online is a complete shabbles.

1 out of 10 (and thats being generous)

Spoiler vote ahoy.

I'm sorry - but NO game deserves 1/10... there's no game in existence that is that bad. 1 out of 10 suggests something that is beyond help. Ill-conceived, badly executed and looks/sounds terrible.

R6V2 is none of these. The single-player mode plays great (tho not as good as the first), the customisation options are good, online Terrorist hunts are superb....

Really, considering the worst case scenario of the game being merely "playable", it would still deserve more than 1/10.

But to say 1/10 is being "generous" is utterly pathetic. Bugs or not, people have grafted to create this game and to call is barely 1/10 is an insult to the devs whether they've ballsed it up or not. No game deserves that sort of comment.

Re: Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 PS3 Reviews

To be fair, every user is entitiled to give a score as they see fit. And the game must have really disappointed matttrakker's expectations.

Personally I think the game is great, yet to vote because I'll want to back up my vote with a review. I personally don't take notice of any score, whether high or low, unless there's a decent reivew to back it up. Things like 'half finished' doesn't really explain much, just like my 'the game is great' comment doesn't tell you why its great lol but you get my point.

(As i never play SP modes, just muliplayer, my vote is purely for the online element).

I'v voted 4/10, because its so hard and time consuming to connect to games online.
When/if they sort that out i'll vote again, as gameplay wise it has potential.

Also the maps are a bit 'boxy' and corridoor'y, need a few more open maps (like bordertown in vegas1).

I agree - but to mark any game 1/10??? I mean that says it's broken beyond the realms of even basic presentation and playability. Something we know Rainbow ain't. Is mattrakker really saying R6V2 is worse than Genji?

If someone wants to give it 4 or 5 or 6, fair do's... but c'mon... 1/10???

Yeah I do agree with you, I've never seen a game worth 1/10, and his score wasn't backed up with more insightful explanations as to why. But you can also understand people's fustrations when they look forward to something and it totally bottoms out on them.

I actually made a bit of a mistake when i voted. I put 0 when i should have put 1.

I really can't believe that 3 people have give this a 9 but then thats their right to vote.

Have they .

This game is clearly a rehashed version of the first game but with even more problems, especially with the multiplayer which is supposed to be the games big selling point.

R6V22 what a joke, more like R6V0.2

1/10

Rainbow 6 Vegas 1 - I was a big fan

Boy they're messed up R6V2 hugely by not including a working online mode.

Are there issues with the X360 online modes ?

Also, I've noticed when on R6V2 there seems to be something wrong with my Fan

Boy it doesn't half make a lot more noise when that game is on compared to the others. Is anyone else experiencing it ?
