Rainbow Six Vegas PS3 Reviews

So how do you feel about Rainbow Six Vegas?

Please! As a courtesy to others; avoid posting any spoilers in your reviews.

A 10 should only be given for a landmark game that sets new rules, a 9 for a truly excellent game without flaw, and an average game that does things right but nothing special should get a 5 (not a 7 or 8 like some would have you believe).

With thanks for Durera for providing the format (makes sense to keep it consistent across AVF).

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas: Review

Seeing as there was no poll for RSV I've created one.

One of my favourite games at the moment, I'm constantly swapping between this and RFOM. Fantastic gameplay, great graphics and good online multiplayer options (including co-op), but it does have it's flaws - a sloppy online lobby that throws you into the middle of games in progress and an annoying wait every time you load the game while it writes a temporary cache (make it a permenant cache!!). Both could be fixed with a future update, but for now - 8/10.

Re: Rainbow Six Vegas: Review

Gone with a 7/10. A very good game - but not without issues.

+
Online gameplay has some great modes.
Cover system is great.
Online Co-op story mode is fantastic. No need to complete the offline story mode with dumb A.I team-mates.
Hidden 3rd person mode in the single mode makes it play like GRAW.
Lots of unlockables/trophies/awards.
Great enemy A.I in terrorist hunt when set to realistic.
XMB freinds list support.

-
Slightly dumb A.I (team-mates)
Limited squad commands (unless rappelling or at a door)
Online lobby system non-existant.
Buggy audio.
Low quality voice comms.
No 3rd person view online.
Looks like an upscaled PS2 games compared to GRAW.
Stupid back to back loading times when the host changes the map.
Grenade throwing is a bit hit and miss.

With all it's faults, one of the best online shooters I've played a while. Didn't bother with the single player much - as I've completed it in co-op mode.

It's just a shame that Ubisoft shipped it with so many bugs.
