WWE Legends Of Wrestlemania - Preview Thread

just seen the preview of this game on ign.com and its looking pretty good and best of all it has my childhood favourite in it..... the ultimate warrior

however, it remains to be seen how well it plays but the graphics look pretty good so far

just another month to go until its released

Was thinking about getting this just for the fact that i used to love wwf when i was a kid and it has got all the classic wrestlers. Dont reall ylike wrestling games but if it is cheap enough i will definatley be purchasing it. Any news on the wrestlers on it, would like the british bulldog!!

but thats only a small amount considering there will be 40 charactors in the game

Does look good... will all come down to the control scheme though.

Why do so many wrestling games get it wrong? My theory is that as the 'sport' is scripted, its hard to make a video game match flow as they do in real life as most video games turn into a beat-em-up.

The games that got it right for me are the N64 games by THQ.

If developers realised with wrestling that simpler is better (and as the N64 games showed, you could still get a wide variety of moves from simple controls) then wrestling games would be better...

Still, will keep an eye on this one!

The first 2 smackdown games on the ps1 were superb, control scheme was bang on IMO.

When the ps2 came out the games then went downhill as they brought in the overcomplicated analogue stick controls and fancy grapple systems.

i personally find all the controls of the recent wwe games very easy and simple, just hope this game follows the same control system

I might get this. I used to love wrestling as a kid but went off the games. The fact that this has all the old school stars, sounds cool to me

Hope the Undertaker is still included

I remember his music coming on and him running out to 'save' Hulk Hogan in an early Wrestlemania a while after he'd left and I was absolutely buzzing

You might be forgetting the rather infamous, yet unforgettable strap match between Savio Vega & Stone Cold Steve Austin

Wrestling from the mid 90's was the prime of my childhood, not really thought about it much since then. Getting quite a kick out of all these old names!

I agree, I overlooked jake the snake roberts - also Vader.

im sure some of the other legends such as jake the snake and mr perfect will be in there somewhere. and i wont be paying over £30 for it on release as you can always pick up new games at that price if you look around hard enough :D

Looks like my kinda game . Used to watch wrestling a lot about 20 years ago , so I would love to see Paul " Mr Wonderful " Orndorf and " Ravishing " Rick Rude as playable characters . Oh yes and Demolition would be class additions as well .
Spookily enough the only wrestling game I've ever played was one in the arcades , so this will be my first i've purchased on a home console .Think i'll hold off buying it until it reaches the magical £19.99 price point though .

Funnily enough ive recently been watching some of the wrestlemanias again and have to say wrestlemania 7 has a classic "loser retires" match between ultimate warrior and macho man randy savage!!

Good news about the control system (for me anyway).

Apparantly its much simplified for this game.

The left thumb stick or d-pad are used for wrestler movement, and the face buttons are used for wrestler actions. On the 360 pad, Y is for guard, X is for strike, A is for grapple and B performs actions, like getting in and out of the ring. That's it, for all intents and purposes.

I hope Randy Savage, Big Bossman, Mr Perfect, the Honky Tonk Man, the Ultimate Warrior and Demolition are all in there. The Powers of Pain would be nice too. And Eddie Guerrero - viva la raza! I hope the final roster does not disappoint - and that they don't leave wrestlers on purpose out of the game so you have to pay for them in the form of DLC.

I havent played a wrestling game since 'Something vs NWO' on the N64 but this one really interests me.

As long as I can be Ultimate Warrior that is. Or the Legion of Doom.

Anyone pre-ordered yet? Shopto have it for £32.99 and i'll probably go with them. Play.com have it for £29.99 is you don't mind waiting.

Has there been any detailed stuff about Story mode ect. Now that the whole roster has been announced, i really want to go back and replay the glory days of wrestling.

Hope there's a demo planned too

I pre-ordered KZ2 and SFIV from play and received them both on the day before release.

Play seemed to have got their act together on the whole getting things on release day now.

I saw a video showing the charcters - there are loads but I don't rememebr seeing Macho Man, Demolition or Eddie Guerrero...

Defintely glad there's a demo as my mate is mad for this game & I'm not sure. I love the Legands asect to it as I used to watch wrestling in the 80's (showing my age) so matches with Ultimate Warrior etc. will be great fun.
