Mini Ninjas - Preview Thread

Eidos has announced Mini Ninjas, a new action game from Danish developer, Io Interactive, for PC, DS, Wii and next gen platforms this autumn.

IOI is most famous (more like infamous for K&L lol) for the Hitman franchise as well as Kane & Lynch.

Prepare yourself for a Ninja adventure like you have never seen before! Join Hiro, the smallest hero on the biggest adventure, as he embarks on an epic and electrifying quest to restore harmony to a world on the brink of chaos. Use your skills and mighty Ninja training to battle a magical army of evil Samurai. Harness the power of your Kuji magic and utilise the special skills of your Mini Ninja friends as you travel through a perilous world to reach the final confrontation with the Evil Samurai Warlord in his Fortress of Doom.

You will learn different fighting skills and be able to master various types of magic as the game progresses.

“Mini Ninjas represents a truly special game for us,” said Niels Jørgensen, General Manager of Io Interactive.

“The whole team is very excited about it, because it is unique in so many ways. From the art style to the characters and the depth of the game – Mini Ninjas has that exceptional appeal, which is sure to keep both young and old very entertained.”

Re: Mini Ninjas - Preview Thread

I think I may be too old to like this one. Surely though Eidos are more famous for re-inventing the platform genre with Tomb Raider than it is for Hitman or Kane and Lynch though?

That's what video game descriptions should be like! Just like the good old days

'Evil samurai lord in his fortress of doom' - .

I really want this to be good even though I am probably too old for it but it looks great fun. Is it full retail or a psn mini game?

Re: Mini Ninjas - Preview Thread

loads of new info/vids on this little game. It has a really fresh art style and looks fun if a little easy. But if it is done well thats fine, it looks like a great pick up and ply game, maybe a good family game too.

I am kinda looking forward to this one. The graphics on this and fat Princess look very much like those cute Wii game graphics.

Re: Mini Ninjas - Preview Thread

The combat wasn't varied enough for me, I got really bored playing the demo.

Thinking about it now, Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed and even Batman all offer counter attacks if you get the timing right. This is the kind of combat that keeps me interested.

Ok maybe I'm just too old for 'Mini Ninjas'

I have a different take. The demo is playable, but I wont go as far as calling it very good. The graphics look good though - they remind me of Crash Bandicot- I also like the 3-d polygon layout of the environment - the bamboo trees look good graphically.

The game play is some how lukewarm, I get the feeling it is not exactly spot- on or there when I played it. The button configuration during attack mode are just too simple and a bit too "button basher" approach for my liking.

I suppose this is aimed at kids. . . . I am not so sure I would be getting this one like I originally anticipated.

Re: Mini Ninjas - Preview Thread

the demo is worth downloading. is it a game for me.. hmm well there are some mildly deeper elements like (VERY) basica fishing, and collection of items, like zelda for a 5yr old.

but the real plus is that my GF found a game she liked on ps3

Not bad price considering the quality of the game. i think this game will go platinum within a short period of time and the price will fall down (like LBP).

Mini Ninjas - £17.95 @ Zavvi
Makes the game worth a punt now probably, as opposed to full price. Especially for those with kids maybe.

Just played the Demo with my 7 year old daughter and she loved it. I thought it was quite cool too. I think I may purchase this for her to play.
