Whilst this should really get it's own thread since it's such a niche product I figure the only people that might remotely be interested are those posting in this thread. If need be it can get it's own thread. Anyway 2K Sports is apparently releasing a baseball management simulation for the PS3 and 360. Here is a link to the preorder on VG+.

I'm still playing MLB '08 and the preview comments I've read about '09 sound excellent.

No massive improvements anywhere but just a lot of extra tweaks to what was already my favourite game of all time.

Did the game come out before the season started or after, I cant remember?

Came out a month before the season started as it will do again this year, due to be released 3rd March

They have also rectified one of the most annoying parts of the online play from 08:

Not only will the game support Online Season Leagues with fully functional drafts, Sony has also added flex scheduling so gamers can jump ahead and play games out of order depending on which opponents are online. Up to 30 teams can participate and the mode includes full stat tracking and customization down to number of teams and games in the schedule.

There is also a cool Roster Vault option where gamers can create their own custom rosters and upload them online for other gamers to use.

Hello all,

My first post on these forums and tbh it has to be about the Show!

Basically I run a new community website dedicated to MLB the Show for UK and European players. It is tough enough getting games online let alone creating a decent sized league, so we are hoping to unite a small community together.

We will be looking to run a Online League for MLB the Show, but also our website is about developing an interest in the game and hopefully baseball too.

There are a few features on there that some people may be interested in, please check us out at www.mlbtheshow.co.uk - we are less than 5 days old, so everything is slowly coming together, but the more interest we get the better and hopefully that will help snowball in terms of UK/European players online.

They've made my day. One thing that really annoyed me when I was on base was how many 6, 7, 8 pitch at bats the guys behind me got. So it was take a lead...ball. Go back, take a lead....strike. Go back, take a lead....ball..........etc. etc. etc.

At least now we have the option to tune how many of these we get for baserunning and fielding.

I've been ordering from them for the last six years and have ordered more then 60 items and I can say they are very good and very reliable.

More little bits of information coming out over at Operation Sports as a couple of the community guys are up there playing the game!!

Still not the final build as they are finishing off bug testing, which is a testament to getting out the product as good as it can be.

Yes they are. They mark down all their packages to $20 Canadian which is under the limit for duty charges.

10 days or so until Pitchers and Catchers report.... if I was in America im sure I could smell the sweet cut grass of a baseball diamond.... however im not and all I can see is snow

For those 50/50 on getting this game..... you have to give it a try!

Guys, please help me out on this one. I've read loads of reviews on MLB08 saying how great it is, best sports game on PS3, etc, and clearly it has it's followers. But I just don't 'get' it. It's professional rounders. What more to the game is there than swinging a bat, throwing a ball, or running to catch a ball? I don't see how this translates into the best sports game???

Go easy on me for my ignorance. I'd like to get it, am happy to support any quality title despite what it's based on (have never been into trying parkour but still like Mirrors Edge) and you all seem so excited by the new one there has to be so much I'm missing

just pick up a cheap copy of 07 or 08, but since its quite cheap from VG+ you might aswell jus take the plunge as it really is fantastic. Even if you simply play the single player career mode, probably the easiest game mode for someone who doesn't appreciate the sport already, and never touch franchise it is more than worth it.

have also joined up so will look out for the online league, it should be easier to run an online league this year due to the increased options and the fact games can be played in any order
