I was actually taken aback that they did that.
But I downloaded the demo last night and yep same game.
If you like the game fair play to you, I suppose there will also actually be people wanting to vote for Mccain/Palin in the upcoming American elections.
But I just did not like it.
I replayed PES2006 on the Xbox360 and even though its not perfect its much better for what it is over PES2009.
Two of my favorite games are The Club and Scarface. I see people on Metacritic claiming they are absolute rubbish. For me I can't for the life of me understand why as even by anyones standards I would think they can be considered at least 'good' but certainly not rubbish.
It takes all sorts to make a population and I just do not like PES2009. But love fifa09, Uefa Euro 2008.
Initial reviews seem to be getting a wide spread of people that really cannot stand it, to those that think its ok. So maybe its the Marmite of the gaming world.

I haven't played the full game myself yet, and I've been hammering FIFA 09 the past 2 weeks and really enjoy it - and was also taken in by Euro 2008, so it's not like I'm a fan boy or anything either - I just think you should base your opinion on a few more games, try out the different modes, and see what its like online, then say what you think.

This is the best pro-evo so far imho.

Have you tried on line yet?
Do you need to register the game using the code off the instruction manual
Do you need to use your konami id
Is there any frame rate issues / slow down / lag etc - is it game affecting?
Mine is on its way from Game so I hope all is well with the game.

i am a huge pro evo fan BUT same as everyone i was sickened by how bad pes 2008 was...i decided this year that instead of going out and buying blindly on friday i would wait for some trusted reviews before making my mind up wether to buy it or not...however now im a bit worried about which reviews to trust.
we get the reviews sfrom the fifa fanboys who says pes 2009 is rubbish no matter how it turns out....
we get the reviews from the pes fanboys who say its amazing no matter what....
so basically im wondering will the waiting for the reviews actually work as i wont know which reviews to really trust!!????

Wait for people in this thread who YOU belive you can trust (e.g. similar history, experiences, opinions etc.) to provide feedback. That'll be much more reliable than short-sighted/biased reviews.
I'm waiting for feedback on the online performance before making any decision. I've always been a PES fanboy, but I've bought FIFA 09 this year. It's a decent game and 10v10 online is great, but it still has numerous gameplay faults that put it behind a "typical" PES game. So I'll but PES if the online is up to scratch.
(PS On the FIFA theme: I've never rated "realism" in stadiums, logos, leagues etc. It's always been about the gameplay. But I'd now have to say that there's something great about playing at a virtual Old Trafford and hearing genuine United songs. Gets a BIG tick from me. FIFA does this 100 times better than PES and I for one am starting to take notice now we're in this next generation)

I have however off an on over the summer been playing PES2006 for the Xbox360 which is still rather good, but alas not on a par with Uefa2008.
I tried PES2008 briefly last year then got rid of it after despising it immensely. This had to be my biggest letdown on any game on any system so far, and I have had a game machine each generation since owning a Speccy 128k back in the late 80's. | #
What is PES 2006? Do you mean PES 6?
The PC version of PES 6 is still the one I play.
