NCAA Basketball 10 Preview Thread

I know college basketball is nowhere near as big as the NBA over here, but I prefer to watch it (too many egos in the NBA) and College Hoops 2K8 is still one of the best basketball games ever, if not the best.

Anyhoo, it's very early days but it's looking like this could be something very special. If only because of the tv broadcast integration of not one, but TWO networks. CBS and ESPN. How they pulled it off I've no idea. Maybe the rights with the NCAA aren't as strict?
This has never been done as far as I know and it looks very, very promising. I've dreamed of this kind of presentation since ESPN NFL 2K5 did it so well. I honestly think it could revolutionise presentation in sports games.

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Preview Thread

I've been looking out for this 'un as I've heard a lot about it.

The last Hoops I played was EA's NBA offering on the PS2 so am looking forward to trying this one out as it appears that it could be the best of the bunch.

Re: NCAA Basketball 10 Preview Thread

A gameplay video is out. Looking good, but the CBS commentary has a few patches where they say nothing and only react to things. Hopefully that'll get tuned for release. Still, I LOVE the presentation and the gameplay isn't looking too shabby either. Can't wait for this one.

Another video showing the 10 toughest places to play. Not sure about their ranking but the atmosphere and crowd are looking great. Especially like the camera shake at the end. The demo is out on the 6th of November on the US store.

I FINALLY got my copy of this today and absolutely love it!! Granted, I'm a big college hoops fan but if you're into basketball at all I honestly think you'll really enjoy this.
The commentary is better than I thought, but still needs work (if Nessler goes on about good fouls one more time!!!), but the presentation is absolutely amazing. Camera angles, overlays, stats, etc. are all dead on to each network. Finally the replays don't just show the last play. Just like on tv, when there is a break in the action they'll go back to the big plays, even if it was a few minutes ago.
The gameplay is actually much better than I expected as well after reading the reviews. I'm not seeing a lot of the complaints I've read about and am seeing a lot of nice little touches. I also find the moves a lot easier to pull off than in 2K games.

Don't get me wrong, it's not perfect by any means but I can't remember the last time I played a new game for so long with a big smile on my face.
