WET - Preview Thread

Not seen a thread for this as yet so thought i'd post one!

Didn't think much to it if i'm honest and I had fairly high hopes with this being a Bethesda game!

Kind of reminded me of a cross between Mirrors Edge and The Club, with maybe even a smidge of Prince of Persia chucked in for good measure.

I just find games like this too fiddly, but maybe some folk love all of this learn 20 different moves and then go through the game and use them in the right areas, kind of thing.

I thought the visuals were nothing special either, which again suprised me when you think of Oblivion & Fallout 3.

Anyway, it would be good to know what others made of the demo, but I certainly have no desire to play it again. Shame.

My sentiments are about the same although the game I thought whilst playing was Stranglehold. As you say very fiddly and can easily see this game becoming very frustrating similar to Stranglehold. Might pick it up from the bargain bins.

What a load .... is what I thought.

I found myself just sliding everywhere just to get the slow mo to kill stuff, it got a BIT better when I could use the sword, but oh how boring it was, in the end I jumped off a building to my death and quit.

Bargain bucket for myself as well, as others have mentioned controls very fiddly it'll drop to £10-£15 quite quickly.

Re: WET - Preview Thread

yep i downloaded it played it and deleted it, if this had been out when stranglehold was out it might have been a choice between them, but i still think stranglehold would have beaten this, graphics look outdated, cant really see this selling well with the xmas games, i think it will be reduced from rrp really quickly when it come out

I don't think I'd play the full game, even if I were given it for free.

Bethesda are just publishing the game, it was developed by Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M) Probably why it's not up to par with Fallout 3 and oblivion,

Here's their track record of games . Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artific...d_and_Movement

Re: WET - Preview Thread

Just played the demo to this and I've got mixed feelings about it. I didn't think the graphics were too bad to be honest but whoever thought it would be a good idea to make it look like you're playing the game on some dodgy film projector needs shooting. Talk about headache inducing! I did think the combat was very satisfying though especially when the sword comes into play. I also gotta disagree about the controls being fiddly. I just shot the bad guys if they were far away or slashed them to pieces with the sword if they were next to me. Simple!

Ah indeed! I'm surprised they would publish this to be honest as people may associate it with the Bethesda name.

A2M's game portfolio is very weak to be honest so it's no surprise that this isn't much cop.

Re: WET - Preview Thread

my urge to kill was quite satisfied, especially when it did the 'rubi mode' level.. everything was a funny colour and fast music.. running round killing everyone with the sword. raaarrrrrrr.

But in the end, the game was very sub-standard.. the styles of levels were pretty much.. story section - go through some doors sliding/jumping to shoot people/slash them. ambush section - you are trapped in a courtyard where baddies spawn until you destroy the spawn points. Rubi mode section - go through in a crank style manner, there was a button to go into 'rubi mode', so mabe this will be optional on most levels. QT section - Shoot baddies whilst hanging from a car, hit the 'X' and Square buttons when told to do so for QT events.

Id give the demo around 6/10 simply for giving me a short rush during the rubi mode. I imagine the full game would be quite repetative.

Re: WET - Preview Thread

Looked average at best. Played the demo and deleted. I quite like the idea of something having that kind of "Tarantino feel", but the execution isn't quite there.
