Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3D!

Looks like we'll be able to purchase our first 3D game shortly.

Apparently it will be compatible with 1% of home tvs on the market. I've seen a tv capable of 3D but had nothing to demo so should be interesting seeing the first actual game available!

Re: Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3D!

Not heard of this game previously but will be interesting to see how the 3D element works - isn't a firmware update required for the 3D facility? And surely the 'gimmick' (currently) of 3D is commercial suicide if only 1% of TV's can use it?? Assume that there would be a facility to switch on/off for the 99% who couldn't use it, which kind of begs the question....what's the point?

Re: Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3D!

From what I understood for those of us whose tv's are not 3D compatible it will run at 60fps at 1080p so should still look pretty good.

Your argument that it shouldn't be released because only 1% of tv's on the market support it is clearly flawed as I doubt that there were more than 1% of tv's on the market that could support high def before they released blueray/high def dvd/ps3.

What comes first the tv to display it or the content for the platform? I'd argue that you need content to properly demo the potential of the tv's before anyone would buy one.

Why would you need a specific TV?

I thought that you could watch movies such as 'My Bloody Valentine' in 3D on a standard LCD/Plasma TV with glasses?

Re: Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao 3D!

Think the article said your tv has to be able to refresh at a minimum of a specific rate so not all tv's can do it.

From memory think you need 120hz because you'll see 60hz in 1 eye and the other image at 60hz in the other eye thus combining to make it 3D. That implies that the Sony 200hz tv will be fine but I'm only guessing there.
