Crysis 2 - Preview Thread

Had a quick search but couldnt find another thread.

Release date is supposedly March next year

Im looking forward to this because i have never played the first one on the pc, im guessing the graphics will be fantastic, lets hope gameplay is up tp scratch aswell

Anyone got any more info?

Is there going to be a 360 port aswell or just ps3?

Is it going to have multiplayer? I really like Crysis wars, if we get some of that on the PS3 it could be great.

Those video's are from the CryEngine 3 tech demo though and not actually the game though - considering the game is set in an apocalypic NY I can't see there being much in the way of woodland - unless we get some sort of level that acts as a backstory from the first game.

Should get some maps like that as part of the multiplayer I expect - reported today that Crytek have the entire UK team (ye olde free radical) working on that specifically.

i can see this turning into Cod series, crysis mode nothing more will give it a punt though as i like Cod series.

Just tried the xbox mp beta/demo.

from me.

The stealth is a joke. Everyone using it and you get sick of getting killed by someone hiding and appearing from nowhere to put a single shotgun shot into you and kill you.

Takes a full mag to kill someone. Hit detection is a bit iffy. Controls are ok once you get used to them but overall i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be.

Think i'll rent this for the single player not the MP.

Graphics were decent tho.

im having a go on it later,tbh the stealth gizmo probably would be annoying,people just appearing out of nowhere and killing you would get very annoying.

That doesn't even make sense. Part of the stealth in the game is invisibility (its called a "feature", and because everyone is using it makes it a joke?

Well because everyone is invisible they all camp it up and you get taken out by someone with a shogun who you cant see. And this happens every single game. Yes you could do the same tactic. But that is rubbish.

Its a 'feature' which spoils the game.

Fair enough lol. However isn't there a counter system or something like perks that you can unlock?

I got to level 7 and turned it off. I had enough of the invisible deaths.

I imagine there may be something but i don't think you can fully combat it.

I was using a detection thing that made a noise when someone was near but i still had no idea where they were when it was going off.

I felt that the higher rank you were the harder you were to kill. So anyone new playing it will get annihilated by someone up the ranks who has unlocked stuff.

Hit detection is dodgy too. Was putting full mags into people and getting nothing. nd then dying to someone passing wind in my direction. Though i was playing COD again for a moment.

I might give it another go see if i can unlock something that helps. But i certainly didnt find an 'anti invisible camper with a shotgun' perk.

And to throw a grenade you either have to double tap yellow to just equip it or press right on the d-pad. Terrible.

I see. It does indeed seem quite a few others are complaining about dodgy controls and hit detection as well. Not sounding too good.

i think it was a toss up between what fps will be my full time online shooter.

killzone3 vs homefront vs crysis.

it sounds like crysis is out.killzone 3 is a definate.
not sure about homefront yet.

the control layout sounds shocking on crysis 2.might be worth a rental for the single player though.

i downloaded earlier,but er indoors spoilt my evening by watching holby fooking city.

i will have a couple of games tomorrow then make my mind up fully.

Nope not for me i'm afraid.

Plays far to fast and the invisible kills just get plain annoying. Hit detection is poor too. Graphics are really good and thats about it.

It should be at battlfield pace atm its faster than COD!!!!!
