Well it might have something to do with my timing. I sent a disc back yesterday, Which they received this morning and it was one of my high priority disc's.

Re: Wolfenstein - Play & Help Thread

Well I've given it a good bash today.

The controls are are solid. The sound is very impressive and the grapics are good in some areas not in others. The best selling point is the weapons are a lot of fun

The story it the same old WOLFENSTEIN nazis up to no good. Messing with the supernatural. It's nothing new, But who cares it's a lot of fun.

Most look like there online and single player ones are not for completing missions so i wont be getting many, just the complete game one.

A lot of online trophies also there are a lot of collectables i.e

gold
intel
veil books

and one where you have to go throught the whole the campaign with only three deaths.
Also one for completing the game under 12hours, complete on uber and hard.

So there aren't hard, But you will have to plug a good few hours into it.

Re: Wolfenstein - Play & Help Thread

I've read the (mostly very positive) reviews on Amazon etc and no mention of any co-op element. I'm guessing it's purely single player? The reviews also nearly all state "not tried multi player yet" etc. Any comments on the multiplayer mode and does it support coms ok? Any views appreciated before I splash my cash on this one...Thanks

Just started it last night and hoping it gets better to be honest. Really can't see me playing through the single player anymore than twice. Might even start again on Uber difficulty tonight before I get too far then do a "mop up" run on easy for some of the other trophies.

A bit of a pain you have to redo the whole thing again and collect everything in play - Am I right in thinking you can't just go back to stuff you've missed?

Re: Wolfenstein - Play & Help Thread

hello matey nice to see your still wearing your avatar

I've not played it online but here are my thoughts of the single player.

first off No there is on Coop you play alone for the whole game.

Wolfenstein story is nothing new. German nazis messing about with supernatural powers called the black sun. You play as agent B.J." Blazkowicz and you move around the town of Isenstadt meeting the different resistance fighters and taking on their missions.
You can visit any resistance team you like at any point of the game(gives it a little bit of free roaming feel). If you include all the side missions the game should take upwards of 12hours.

The controls are solid, If you play COD you will feel right at home. The weapons are a lot of fun to use and sound great. There is also the veil weapons you collect throught the game. (veil is the underworld unlocked because of the black sun)

veil powers:
veil - it lets you enter the black sun world, same as the one you are in but you can see ememy better and run faster. Also see hidden paths
mire - Lets you slow downtime
sheild - As it says on the tin
Empower - Makes your bullets more powerfull and able to pass through shields

Trophy lovers will love it. There are plenty to be had and they are very well balanced between single player (with lots of items to collect) and multiplayer

Downsides

AI are stupid they will stand there and shoot instead of finding better cover, Which lets you just run and gun. You never seem to run out of bullets and there are veil pots all over. So if you run out while trying to tackle a lot of ememies. you can also find one to re-fill your supply. Removing the tension from the game.

My only advice for the singleplayer is. If you play alot of FPS play it on a high difficulty.

Yes when you hit the select Button you are shown what levels you have active( yet to complete) and ones you have finshed. You are then shown how many of each you have left to collect and are able to revisit that level.

I had noticed that but the trophy description seem to suggest doing it on a single campaign, rather than dipping in and out of certain levels at will. Hope it's like that to be honest...

The similarities to COD are obvious - even down to te icon they use for throwing a grenade back - thought I was on Blowtorch & Corkscrew again for a while last night!

That would be very unfair if it is as writen. As having the option to revisit the Level would be pointless

For the people that are goin for PLATINUM. You have to complete all the areas collect all the collectables. Before you go to the airfield. as this will set you on the road to completing the game.

Damn right mate, going to wear it till it's cruelly ripped off me, probably in the first round and probably by you, in the next Tourney!

High enough praise for me, will pick it up next week assuming this weekend off is long enough to get the rest of the Resi 5 and Fat Princess trophies. This isn't likely given that my bandwidth (9.8meg at last check) only allows me to host 10 players, 5 per team, and 1 trophy is for killing 6 folk at once!

Maybe catch you for a spot of multi when I pick it up
