The new season begins

Thanks to Grrrr for the idea for this season

I have decided to revert to one big league where we play each other twice. Team choice this season is determined by your final points / goal difference from last season. So, last season ended up with this one amalgamated table :

Teams will reflect the English League 1, with the player at the top of the above table being given the team currently in 20th place in League 1, and the player at the bottom being given the team currently in first place in League 1. Thus, your teams next season are as follows :

Threw the second game away completely! dammit! went 2-0 up , very fotunately as Geo was the stronger of the two teams for the second game in a row, but then geo managed to equalise right with the last kick of the game, literally! damn him!

But were two very close games, and fairly even, although i always felt that geo was the team with the edge.

Yeah the first i managed to nabbed a goal then was able to relax!

The 2nd!!!! lol

I was almost ahead then you grabbed one and i went chasing! I chased that much that you grabbed another! LOL Then i went all out attack and sneaked a wee one with (i think) 10 mins to go and like you said with the very last kick of the game i managed to turn the man in the box and bang home my 2nd to draw a cracking game!

The only positive thing is that I scored 1 goal over 4 games. And I had a lot more shots on target.

Good games and I am sure the 2 of them could of scored more goals, I cannot believe I hit the cross bar and wood work 3 or 4 times in the games and none hit the inside aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh

2 good games with Flash, i was completely out played both games, the 0.5 star difference was evident in the strength of his attack compared to my def.

Flash, im not asking this as a dig to you (honestly) , but just out of interest, do you realise that your playing style is very samey? especially in the second game!

goal 1- pass from side of pen to FW standing in middle of pen
goal 2- pass from side of pen to FW standing in middle of pen
goal 3- pass from side of pen to FW standing in middle of pen
goal 4- Corner kick header
goal 5- pass from side of pen to FW standing in middle of pen
goal 6- pass from side of pen to FW standing in middle of pen, but then deflected off my out running keeper before headed in by FW


Im not moaning its just an observation, but every one of your attacks was the same method, pass from side of pen area to man standing in centre of pen area. fortunately i defended half of them, just the other half went in!

I was just waiting for you to try a different method, but didnt see one!

but overall two good games, i was on the defence the whole of both games and just couldnt get much of an attack going, so was just left with resorting to trying to break on the counter attack and failing big time!

Results In

Mr_Flash(Carlisle) 4 v 0 Gunhawk(Leyton Orient)

Plenty of early possession and a early goal on 8min from ex Leeds forward Michael Bridges settled the nervous home fans. It was 2 nil going in at half time although gunny could feel a bit unlucky as hit had hit the crossbar and the post during the first half. 2 minutes after the restart and Dobie killed off any comeback. Bridges grabbing his 2nd on 79 minutes to seal the win.

Gunhawk(Leyton Orient) 1 v 6 Mr_Flash(Carlisle)

The visitors were 3-0 up by the half our mark through Bridges & Dobie(2) but should have been behind, The Orient striker blasting over a empty net although the ball didn't fall kindly for him. A life line for the home fans when Boyd grabbed a goal back right before halftime only for Dobie to grab his hatrick seconds later. Dobie added 2 more in the second half to take his tally to 6 for the season.

Thanks Gunny. Some of your build up play was lovely but you left your shooting boots at home today.

I did notice the goals were very similar but with these lower ranked team you have to look for the simple goals cos you can't out pace the defender into the box and smash it in the top corner.

If i see a man free in the box who is onside i will always pass it to him for a tap in, Wouldn't you.

Having said that your defense did leave some massive gaps. Try playing with a tighter formation like 4-1-2-1-2 as i noticed on the team management screen your defense was wide across the pitch.

yeah that seems to be a big problem for me, the defence is rather weak(physically) and rather quite slow, same as the MF and ATT which both seem to be lacking pace (my normal play style) so im left scratching my head trying to work out the best way to play with this team!

Im going to have to practise a bit with this team and work out their strengths (if they have any!)

Second half i switch formation to a custom 6 defence triangle formation, but that didnt seem to stop you dammit!

You deserved to win although these teams are shocking and if you get one with no pace you stand little chance. Scored 4 goals from about 40 shots over my 3 games so far...

Flash, your a good player....surely you don't have to resort to trying to block every goal kick from hands??? Gotta say, it really started to annoy me during our games.
