Welcome to the SF4 league, this is the start of season one, you must play online on a regular basis and be able to check the thread and your PM box often.

Round 2
Feel free to start round 2 if you have completed your round 1 games post the results in the thread with round 2 in the title....

Match 1 (3 x best of 5 rounds)
Handicap must be turned on and set so you both have minimum energy then choose who would like to fight as you may change fighter for each game. (best of 3 games as usual) This should be about stratagy and skill.
Match 2 (4 x best of 5 rounds)
player one chooses a female fighter for 2 games and player 2 chooses the male fighter. Then visa versa so player 2 has the female etc etc.
Match 3 (1 x best of 5 rounds)
Gen vs Gen

Round 3
Match 1 (6 x best of 3) different character in each match 6 bonus points if you win all 6

I guess you can draw a best of five game like this:

If its 2 matches each and the final match is 2 rounds each and you draw that last round. Admittedly it's probably unlikely to happen though.

The home/away thing is a great idea and probably ensures the best all round player will win the tournament but I fear it maybe too big a handicap for some.

i was already putting you in the league, you may just have to catch up

The draw thing is nicley explained above. Love the home and away idea just do not want to over complicate things in the early rounds but will have a think how to incorperate it and make the instructions simple.

I am sure you just want to give me more admin to do,

The reason i decided to go with everyone choose there own fighter for round was to avoid creating fixtures and let people just get on and play whoever is on line at the time etc once for each fighter obviously. I was not sure how to do home and away legs without creating fixtures which will in turn drag things out for quite some time. So round 1 pick who you want at time of fight and then round 2 i will say hit the question mark or maybe i choose who you have to play as etc etc.. Does this make sense?

Ahh ok, I understand.

Although I don't think you need much admin.

Simply state that every player in the league has to play the other player at least once at home and once away. That way if people are on at the same time, then can play both fixtures.

I am not sure we should have set fixtures, people should just try and play all their games by a set date.

Other wise I feel you will have a huge headache djcla.......

You can then calculate it on a round by round basis....... so Round 1 will be this month.
Everyone tries to play each other.
Monthly winner selected.
Players score points for being in a monthly position, 1st place 10, 2nd 8 etc..
At end month, Inactive players can be purged, then new players can enter.

Round two starts for the next month.......

This way you get a monthly winner and then an over-arching league. It does kind of benefit more active players, but a league can only survive when players are playing each other. Having a bunch of enthusiastic players, but who only play once a month, must carry some kind of penalty I guess.

Round 1

you play your oppenent once best of 3 (5 rounds each) with a character of your choise and then again where you both choose your opoenents character for them again best of 3 (5 rounds each).

I like the idea of the 'away' fighter having to use random select. Luck of the draw...may get a dud but you may get a half decent figher

I like the idea of random select for the 'away' character too, brings an element of the unknown to things. Not been on much last few days but looking to catch up over Easter.

I like that idea also, But to be honest I would rather people picked characters they are comfortable using as sometimes it can be horrible playing a complete mismatch.
