AVF Band of Brothers (BoBs): PART II

AVF BAND OF BROTHERS INFORMATION

***THE CLAN***

AVF Band of Brothers is a clan formed from members of AVF K-Zone. Instead of tying ourselves down to one game. We have decided to spread our wings, and move as a group into many games.

***CLAN MOTTO***

***ABOUT THE CLAN***

Although we are a clan in name. We are more like a gaming group.
We chose to play games together with fellow AVFer’s.
Though there will still be a clan element to us i.e. Killzone 2, COD, and future games that support it.
But its mainly to game as a group.
Instead of roughing it with randoms and going off games. We chose to have more fun with friends. Which will only add to the longevity of the games we play.

We are a clan who are all about fun, friendly games and banter. But to keep the spirit of competition alive within us all. We also like to get serious now and then.
We are active in quite a few games. New and old.
We like all our members to feel part of a large team that plays fair and has respect for other members as well as other clans.

***JOINING FAQ'S***

I'd Like To Join. What Do I Have To Do?

We only ask for 3 things out of anyone wishing to join AVF Band of Brothers.
1. You are an active member on AVForums
2. You are willing to be an active member of the clan both on the PS3 and on the clan threads.
3. You treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself.

I'm Up For That. But I'm Not Very Good!!

Don't worry about your skill level!! In AVF Band of Brothers there is no need to be the best gamer out there. It’s all about getting involved in whatever games you can, and enjoying yourself.

Interesting. Do I Need A Headset?

Headsets aren't essential. But having one will help. Mainly so we can have some good banter and have a laugh with each other. But also so we can communicate information between ourselves on the PS3.

No Problem, Do I Have To Buy All The Games Your Playing?

Of course not, that would cost you a fortune. As long as you’re involved in at least 1 of the games and the clan thread then that’s fine.

I have A Few Of The Games On Your List, Which Game’s Can I Get Involved In?

You can be involved in as many games as you like. If they’re on the CURRENTLY PLAYING list and you own it. You just have to let us know.

OK I'm Game. Sign Me Up.

Excellent. One last thing before you sign up. All new members will be asked to show some commitment on their behalf. This is just to make sure there are no time wasters.

No Problem At All. Sign Me Up!!!!

Good Choice my friend. Please PM our Recruitment/Members Officer Mister T 1976
He will inform you of what happens next.

We all look forward to seeing you online and in the thread very soon.

AVF BAND OF BROTHERS COMMAND CENTRE

***ABOUT THE COMMAND CENTRE***

The Command Centre is where you will find all information about all clan games that are coming up. As well as our past results.
Here you will also find information about forthcoming AVF Band of Brothers events.

All results can be found further down the post.

To save losing all our K-Zone stats we will stay as AVF K-Zone on Killzone 2.

***EVENTS***

Every Friday night is gaming night.

We encourage as many BOB’s members to get involved in some way, shape, or form.
They are meant as fun nights for all AV Forum members not just clan members.
As we are now into many games. It seems appropriate to change the games around every Friday.
So one week it may be LBP night and the next Friday it will be Killzone night. (You catch my drift)
Now obviously not everyone will have all the games we play. So to that end we may have to have double nights. Where a couple of games are played on the same night. Not necessarily at the same time. This is so we can get as many members online in one night as possible.

HOW IT WORKS

We will put the games into a rotation so its different every week.

Each game leader is responsible for organising the “Game Night” when their game comes up that week. (Using the game rotation you can plan well ahead)

On double nights obviously a couple of game leaders will have to set that night up. So communication between us all will be vital.

If the game leader is busy for whatever then we will need people from that game to step up and help out.

Spread the word around the thread what you have planned so people are aware of it. (also may be worth spreading it around the forum in the games section to try to get more involved if you wish)

Turn up Friday night and enjoy.

Chalkywhyte will always be monitoring peoples involvement.
Every month or so if members are found to be slacking then be warned you will be turfed out.
We understand people have commitments. (Jobs, Families etc)
So If for any reason you may be AWOL for a bit please if possible let us know so we don’t boot you out by mistake.
A quick PM to myself or Chalkywhyte letting us know you’ll be busy for a bit will do.

***NEW MEMBERS***

We are only looking for members who are willing to be active on the PS3 and in the thread. So all new members are required to show a form of commitment by taking part in a 2 week trial.
This is to ensure we don’t have any time wasters. As in the past we’ve had people put there name down to join and then not even bother again.

This is a list of new members who are currently on the 2 week trial.

AVF ID   PSN ID   DATE JOINED
AVF ID   PSN ID   ??/??/????
AVF ID   PSN ID   ??/??/????
AVF ID   PSN ID   ??/??/????
AVF ID   PSN ID   ??/??/????

After the 2 week trial is over we will let you know whether or not you have made it into the family.

If you have any questions about membershp please feel free in sending either myself or Chalkywhyte a PM.

Re: AVF Band of Brothers (BoBs): PART II

We dont need Davids as tbh i dont think the trophy thing took off to well. There was only a few who were interested. Plus Davids on hoiliday.

If people want to trophy compare then i'm sure doing it off the main leaderboard is just as easy. Plus theres more people on there so the gaps between each other wont be as big.

Right, back on track! (no pun intended!) Before the old thread was locked I was saying that I'll make sure the assists are on tonight for SC, so the virgins among us can ease into the racing, of course the more experienced among us can still go unassisted

I'll have to give the nurburgring a try, see if I can beat your time Austinqpr, was it in the DBR9?

Yes mate, think it was a 1:59.8 or something like that. Could probably get a bit quicker, always struggle with the 1st sector of the lap.

There's leaderboards in the game, it's one of the options before you select online play, you can see your best lap an where you that lap puts you in the rankings

My 2:14:77 was good enough for 78th best lap at spa the other day

However the top time was a 2:09!!!

I've got MS:PR. Could give that a bash if anyone else is intrested. Could even play the first MS if enough people have it. I like both.

Semi auto changes down for you (when braking) but you have to change up manually

I see, I presume you can still knock it down a gear manually though if needs be?

Automatic gears are naff for quick times. Shifts up far to early!
