Victory or Death Killzone 2 Tournament/Cup

Yo OlympicSlagbag of VoD here,

My first post but here goes,

As for the questions of who's going to run the next League/Cup I have been busy coding a system myself. Its no-where near finished but hopefully I can get it done next week in time to get the ball rolling on the new season.

Big Kudos to Chalky and Chris for getting the previous tournament going but as they want another clan to do the next one I think VoD have taken it upon themselves.

I can have a cup system up and running soon'ish I mean for the time being I'm thinking of making it a cup system with each game being 2 maps (both sides choose a home map) and a tie breaker map if needs be. This being a knockout system I am curious to know what peoples opinions are.

I would only do this as a "time-waster" as such just to give me more time to get the league system coded and up and running.

Back to the original case, bring it on Better Than Halo I just hope I'm available to play the game as I'm pretty busy this week if not I'm sure you'll give the boys and good game!

That would be groovey just to gauge the interest, I want to know what opinions would be of opening this to a wider audience also (i.e. posting on kz.com for clans to apply) although I would only want to limit this to UK clans.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

I'm hoping to get together 16 maybe 32 clans for the first work around, all the clans that played in this tournament get preference, and the only clans eligible to play are UK clans.

Thinking of posting on KZ.com about it aswell and try and get a bit more interest?

Any opinions, as for K-Zone being up for it Chalky I didn't expect any less from you guys lol :D

Can you just register you boys up on the site for me.

Can't see the harm in asking on KZ.com mate. Prob is there alot of foreign clans on there who won't take any notice of UK only. Worth a shot tho.

I'll get someone to register us on your site mate as for some reason the page won't load properly on my pc. All the boxes that need filling in are scewiffed all over the shop.

If your experiencing situations where the text boxes are not showing (IE) or they are disappearing off to the far right (Google Chrome, Safari) then I advise you to get a decent browser like Firefox. lol I jest, because of some of the layout I've cocked a few things up, once I get the PROPER website layout done it should be sweet, when I get around to that who know's it will be soon.

Just thought I'd give you all a headsup and apologise for my poor designing skills lol.

Does the rule: "- Teams are required to play for a minimum of 20 valour, anything above this amount is negotiable between the teams." mean 10 valor per team (i.e. challenge other team for 10 Valor)? Anything more than that would be too rich for our blood! In fact we're put off at 10 as during the last league we usually challenged for 5 Valor (our Valor reserve would have been used up very fast otherwise!).

Also is this a knock-out cup (as suggested in your post) or a weekly league similar to the last one (as suggested on the website)?

Finally what are the rules around team numbers, it doesn't mention it on the website? Is there an upper/lower limit, or is it up to the 'home' side to chose? If it's the latter I don't think we'd fancy playing a 6 vs 16 match once a week! lol

We'll keep it in mind but to be honest I can't see TSR entering this as we simply don't have the numbers (in terms of Valor and Members) to compete in it's current form. It would be nice if there was something designed for smaller teams that could give more tactical games - similar to the Official US 4vs4 Tournament - I know that probably wouldn't appeal to massive clans like AVF, but it would probably attract a lot of interest from the smaller clans. In many ways it's requires more skill to win a 4 vs 4 game than it does a big numbers brute force game... just a thought

Sorry Apnomis, I have not finalised the rules yet as I have been busy with job interviews etc. I will get you a DEFINITIVE rules list sometime this evening guys. Anyway the AVForums.com League still isn't finished yet so hold your horse's theres still a decider to play

I think the way everyone is feeling this will be a league and not a knockout as its felt this would be the best way to make sure all teams are involved and can get a full season of gaming rather than getting kicked down at the first hurdle and missing out (unfair imo).
