Lost & the Damned coming to PS3 in Aug?

Cant see how MS would pay all that money for such a short period of exclusivity but.....

Grand Theft Auto IV expansion The Lost And the Damned has been rumoured to arrive on the PlayStation 3 this August.

The Lost And the Damned is the first of two planned episodic expansions to GTA IV. It was originally released as an Xbox 360 exclusive in February, but according to PSW Magazine, the add-on is about to land on the PS3.

In its latest issue, the magazine claimed that Microsoft only has a six-month exclusivity deal for the content, which expires in August. The article went on to say that the content will arrive on the PS3 once the deal has run its course.

The original 360 version was well received by critics, who hailed its improved motorcycle mechanics, strong voice acting and addictive multiplayer component.

Rockstar Games is yet to confirm a PS3 release for GTA IV: The Lost And the Damned.

Interesting. $50 million for timed exclusive DLC does sound very steep but at the same time they were never going to announce '2 pieces of Episodic content coming to XBOX 360 Exclusively...... for 6 months.

I also heard that Microsoft have it exclusive 'as a download' so the PS3 version of Lost and Damned may ship on a disc.

I guess we'll find out at E3

That sounds similar to how Rockstar got round the GTA 3 and Vice City exclusive deal with sony when they brought out the GTA Boxset for the xbox.

This is the only reason i am keeping GTA4. I doubt we'll see Lost and the Damned being available for the PS3 in August.

Here's hoping that this is for real! I wasn't really inspired by the main game but this add on looks really good and let's face it- we need some bragging rights!

With zombies being all the rage at the moment (sorry!

) it seems to me the gtaiv engine/gaming environment would be ripe for a zombie mode - even if it just plain old just ripped off left 4 dead in the multiplayer stakes it would at least inject some interest into gta between now and either gtav or any additional content.

They announced that Gay Tony Episode 2 or whatever is coming to 360 soon and that they will also be released on disc, I reckon it's this disc version which PS3 will be getting.

MS made money from the overall bundled sales associated with L&D, it's no real suprise that it's rumoured to come to PS3, we'll see if it holds out and becomes true (I'm hoping!) but MS have already made a tidy profit and will be focusing on the Gay Tony add on, L&D will come when that's released on xbox

I do hope it does come to PS3, i can't understand why they only let XBOX 360's have Lost & The Damned...... Seems unfair to me -.-

I would be happy if they kept Liberty City and GTA IV and just used add ons, like Burnout Paradise. The city is amazing, and once they make the missions better, the game will be so much better.

They would have more time to concentrate on gameplay e.t.c if they kept Liberty City, maybe adding another Island, rather than adding a brand new city.

I'd love to see rockstar add a zombie mode to GTA as has happened with COD WAW - multiplayer and solo could be fanstastic is the whole of libery city was overrun and you had set objectives to achieve or even just a survival mode.

The rumors appear to be someone what true. Apprantly it is on show behind closed doors, Gay Tony as well? I could cry with all the games i haven't played in the first part of the year and whats comeing come xmas and new year lol i can't cope!!!!

The Lost and the Damned was also being put under the strict german testing process recently as well, or something like that, it's already gone through on the 360, so this was new. Can't remember the exact story (and can't find the link I took to get to it) but it was something along those lines. Again, suggesting that it's coming to PS3

Todays rumours are that it is NOT coming to the PS3.

Yesterday we excitedly ran with a rumour that Lost and Damned was heading to the PS3 based off the simple fact that screens showing The Lost and Damned were running in a fenced off section of Gamescom with lots of PS3 nearby. Of course, when you’ve got PS3 Community Moderator Yaster saying things like “they were certainly showing some PS3 love – Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and the Damned was available to play in a special 18+ area” on the EU forums (which was swiftly removed) things click into place faster than we can hit that “publish” button.

You can see where we’d get the idea from, right? The cold, hard reality is that Lost and Damned isn’t coming to the PS3. The images on the screens were simply advertising the disk-based expansions for the Xbox 360 version and just happened to be on a reel next to the PS3 demo units. Rest assured that if Rockstar were to ever announce downloadable chapters for the PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV they’d make a much bigger deal of it than just shoving it into a cage at Gamescom were people can blab about it on forums. At least, that’s what we’d do.

that's what it is at the moment, R* said that it's 360 exclusive a couple of weeks ago, no doubt something will come up soon to suggest that it'll come to the PS3, but I don't think it will. We're due to get DLC (multi platform) in February.
