Gta4 dlc

Read about the GTA4 DLC for the 360 last night, nothing special really in my opinion - definitely not something that makes me regret having a ps3 anyway.

Just wondered if there was any word on PS3 DLC?

Re: Gta4 dlc

I was just wondering the same thing myself. It'd be a shame if the PS3 didn't get the extra content for GTA4 and Fallout 3.

I think GTA is too big a franchise for Rockstar to neglect PS3 users forever. To begin with GTA3, VC and SA were only available for the PS2 but eventually crossed over to the Xbox, I would imagine the same thing will happen for the DLC. At least I hope that's the case.

Re: Gta4 dlc

Well its not that Rockstar chose to neglect us, it was more of a case of M$ throwing lots of money at them to make it exclusive for the 360.

Re: Gta4 dlc

I'd just like a patch/DLC to improve the online side - a regular lobby with all available games listed, and ability to form groups instead of the mucking about in the Free Mode would be good.

Also allowing online co-op; just have the other player(s) as goons helping Niko or something, maybe play as Niko's friends (LJ, Packie etc).

I dont really think the PS3 ver will see DLC, as Microsoft must get something for their £50 million...

Re: Gta4 dlc

Well, I'm not after the same DLC. Xbox can keep their exclusive Brotherhood episodes, I didn't much like the motorcycle missions . Something different would be fine with me. Maybe carry on the story, see Niko 5 years later or something like that.

As for Fallout 3, the manual in the PS3 version of Fallout 3 does mention a menu option called "Downloaded Content" (I was reading it last night), so maybe there will be something there in the future.

Re: Gta4 dlc

I'm sure I read somewhere that the PS3 was getting it's own DLC, different than what the 360 is getting. I'll try and see where I found it.

Re: Gta4 dlc

How many mission were there in GTA IV 94? Only one was memorable and I would choose to play again. Three Leaf Clover, the bank robbery. DLC is just going to be the same repeated gameplay with some new cut scenes. The fact its some silly biker gang makes it look even worse. Will it come to the PS3, absolutely but atleast 12 possibly 18 months later.

I don't care now and by then will have no interest at all.

Re: Gta4 dlc

The only things I really envy are:
  • New vehicles - featuring a collection of bikes that include Johnny's own customized heavy-duty chopper.
  • New and improved bike handling and physics.
It will bug me for a few months, but it's still not enough to go bankrupt for an Xbox purchase though!

I'm just going to focus on Burnout Paradise DLC and forget about GTAIV!

Re: Gta4 dlc

You'll be able to gloat eventually - there's still rumours that Sony have forked out to make the next full GTA game a PS3 exclusive, but it's all hush hush while the 360's DLC is in development.

Yeah, but have you read a lot of reviews about it?

I was a bit disappointed to start with, but it sounds like the missions are pretty similar to most of the other ones.

Sounds alright to me, GTA4's one of my all time faves - would love to see the dlc on the ps3 (surely it will be at some point).

Re: Gta4 dlc

I don't know any of this for sure, there's a lot of mixed opinions over on the PS forum but heres what seems to be happening;

Most people (experty people) seem to think that any 360 exclusive content will make its way over to PS3 eventually and vice versa. It's also been said that the $50 million deal consisted of 2 DLC installments to 360 and some smaller DLC content for the PS3, there's speculation about R* working on a new area for the PS3 (so another bit of map) with a few little bits and pieces here and there.

I think that the improved bike handling will come over in a patch sometime, the wepons and vehicles wont though, unless the DLC comes over.

Sony wont pay MS for any DLC, they never have and never will, they put their money into PS3 exclusive game development which eventually provide games like KZ2, Uncharted, LBP, MGS4 and many others and, to be honest, I'd much rather have them than a little bit of DLC for GTA IV (which is one of my most played games).

I'm 99% sure that the next GTA wont be PS3 exclusive either but by then the new Xbox will be out which will support blu-ray and will therefore have more potential for a bigger game. R* themselves said that the 360 held GTA back, they couldn't fit anything else into it. It breezes through the PS3 but pushes the 360 to its limits.

Hmm, yet runs at sub HD res, natively, with poorer framerates and inferior AA. Doesn't ring true really

because it's not specifically programmed for the PS3, what I mean is that GTA IV would easily breeze through the PS3 if the Xbox had better tech, and I have no framerate issues on my copy

Ok, fair enough, if you want to swallow up the Sony PR

If you're not seeing any slowdown, you mustn't be susceptible to noticing it because it is most definitely present particularly in the driving sections.
