The long awaited trophie patch is live now ( 20 MB ) download it next time you start the game.

And remember the trophies are not retroactive. If you want all the trophies you have to delete your old save game, and start the game over again.

You can eventually backup your save before you begin the process, but it is not recommended to leave the old save it in your saved games folder, as it may mix things up with a new save ( has been doing this on other games that was patched with trophies)

Well deleted my save and got my first one for getting of the boat, looks like a few hours are needed to get this lot.

The only one I'm a bit iffy about is the trophy you get for killing a RockStar employee, or something like that.

Are you sure other save games corrupt the new game save? In regards to trophies.

Well if you want all the trophies you have to use a new save. Its been that way with all other games wich was patched with trohies too, so nothing new here.

There was some weird things with Uncharted that some people could not complete certain trophies even after they started a new save, because they had and old save in the save games folder. So I would advice to get totaly rid of the old save.

Copy it to USB / IPOD, other PSN ID whatever if you want to keep it. Just make sure it is not in the savegame data folder on you current PSN ID, if you want to be sure to get all the trophies.

Off course if you dont care about trophies you can just play on with your old save and dont worry about trophies.

Same here LOL. I have completed GTA IV twice onece on PS3 and then on XBOX 360, without cheats. Not I just want to quickly complete it for the trophies.

Had a Google and found that using the cheats stopped some of the achievements being enabled on the 360 version. Would reason it'd be the same for the PS3. Note that its only some, not all.

I havent tryed cheats my self, but there was some people on the Official PS3 forums reporting that using cheat prevented them from unlock some trophies.

I think thats fine. There is not really any idea having trophies if it is posibel to get them, with cheating.

As far as I'm aware there are a handful (like 4 or 5) Trophies that you won't get if you enable ANY cheats. Can't remember exactly which, maybe I'll post them later if I can be bothered. But if you google gta4 cheats for the 360 you should find out which cheats disable which achievements, they're supposed to be the same for the ps3 and trophies.

So I'm going to go through the game using no cheats and try to do it in under 30hours.

Then I'll do the other trophies which aren't affected by the cheats, like pigeon collecting, stunt jumps, blowing up 10 cars in 10 seconds etc.

A few a blocked tried the cheats today, it's the same as the XBOX 360 I think.

I started a new game and cleared a 4 star wanted level yet the Trophy never showed

Any ideas anyone?

8 hours in and im 30% through it with 10 trophies so far (including one silver for surviving a 6 star wanted for 5 mins)

I recon ill finish it in under the 30 hours limit as I believe im about half way through the main story

There is a dead easy way to get that one. Get a car, drive it up into the nearby train station near your first safe house, go right onto the tracks and drive round onto the first unlocked island. Instant 6 stars, wait in the tunnel for 5 mins et voila

Probably not as much fun as avoiding the cops for 5 mins but a hell of a lot easier nevertheless

I just jumped in a boat and headed over to the locked second island and then just avoided all the police boats

Just under 20 hours and the main story is complete again - got my nice shinly gold trophy for completing it in under 30 hours Not sure how much of the rest of it ill do but considering how much of a trophy hore I am ill probably complete it again.

I had a thought about the Liberty City 5 silver trophy - can you still get it if you kill Dwayne or get Roman killed as you need to get all 5 friends to like you more than 90%??

I thought I'd have the motivation to get the trophies but I don't. I'm the get them all or don't bother type of guy, and I can't be bothered with the online side, soooo I don't think I'll bother at all. Still a quality single player game though!

I certainly aint going to go through the woeful online side all the way through, some of the easier ones ill probably get if im bored and im sure ill eventually get all the offline ones (although it took me over an hour to get the turkey trophy, that was one tough sucker to get )

I had the same problem with the 4-stars trophy. I went into a pay and spray to avoid 4 stars and received no trophy for doing so. Surely you don't have to break free of the perimiter?

Yes you do - I did both a pay and spray and a safe house save and it didnt give me it but when I escaped the perimiter it gave me it - takes a while to do though as they are quite persistent.

Managed to get half a dozen of the online trophies today - including killing a rockstar which im not sure how I got but hey ho its mine now . I tried to do the Floy the Co-Op trophy earlier but it didnt give me it - it says complete them "in time" but doesnt tell you what the time is, a little online search yields results but the times are pretty damn quick so you have to be pretty perfect at it.

Coming near to the end again now - need 100 pigeons though so thats going to take a while, done most of the easy bronzes now but still have to deliver a load of text cars and do some more races (it says you need to do 20 single player races but there are only 10 - do you have to do some of them twice to get it?)

Its strange, Im putting more hours into replaying GTA4 than I am playing Farcry which I havnt played before, odd!

That's the one I'm concentrating on at the moment. Can I ignore all the friends and things and just plought through all the missions, do it in under 30 hours, then revisit the friends later on?

Also, I can't remember, do any of the people you kill through the story count as friends, or count towards 100%?
