I could answer this one myself and say mostly but not always. But I'm mainly talking about Deathmatches here as this is where i notice the difference the most.
For example; I joined a Deathmatch with a level 9 player hosting and one other player (level 1). I am level 5. All weapons were on, auto aim etc, etc. The level 1 player soon decided he'd had enough and left the game following a pummelling by the level 9 player. So im thinking...well i'm up for a game and although i was too getting a beating i decided to stay on. The only weapon i had any joy with was the Assault Rifle. It ended something like 20 kills to him and 7 to me.
The next game he changed the weapons to SMG only and we started another game. Well...I could not get even close to taking him out. Every time we went up against each other he killed me with the first burst of fire. I tried to take cover, take high ground, get close, shoot from range etc. etc. Nothing worked. In the end i left the game as he had about 15 kills to my big fat zero!
I decided that there has to be a big difference in damage inflicted by a higher level player. I felt he knew this and if we both used the same weapon then i would have no chance. I thought he was a bit of a
Pr!ck for doing it as it was an unfair advantage and no real skill was required on his part.
This doesn't seem to be the case with players 1 or 2 levels above/below each other as I have be pummelled fair & square by level 4's many times.
So I'm just asking if anyone else had thought this or knew it for a fact. It's a shame as it means you don't have to be that skillful or stealth-like to win. just make sure you are a much higher level that your opponent/s!
