help: update and graphics

just got this game and am LOVING it but:

1) the update v1.02 will not download, it just gets to about 3% and gets stuck for a minute before coming up with an error message? any ideas?

2) whats up with the jerky nature of everything in game(settings wise im on hdmi limited(full gives me crushed blacks) and have left the video settings on auto. (deselecting everything but 1080p made no difference) when you turn niko, or turn in a car everything looks very laggy like its a slideshow rather than smooth movement.

my tv is a 1080p 46 toshiba zf so it shouldnt be the tv(plus blu rays and other ps3 games are perfect)

any help appreciated.

Re: help: update and graphics

I think you may find that the graphics you are seeing are just inherent to the game. On a big screen it is indeed very 'jaggedy'.

Maybe try setting the PS3 to 720p output to see if it helps at all.

The game looks great on my 34" sony CRT, but not so great on my friends 50" samsung plasma. On the plasma the jagged edges are considerably amplified as they can hardly be seen at all on my CRT.

Im no expert but just my thoughts

Re: help: update and graphics

The graphics are just a bit disappointing. On my 42" 720p plasma it doesn't look nearly as good as many other games. Had to adjust the brightness levels massively upwards on the in game control panel just to get a viewable picture.
