Info for a newbie

Hi guys, after the initial craze of GTA IV I decided to rent it out (and later buy it) i'm about 2 hours into the game and just doing the missions bit by bit (inbetween killing people for the fun of it - god it's fun). I just have a few questions really that I would like to ask the more experienced GTA fanatics in here...

In earlier GTA's (Vice City I believe) I downloaded someone else's save game where they had a mansion, and safehouses & places where money would just be waiting outside (I assume this is because the guy was the head of the mafia or something and I was getting protection money) - Does anything similar happen in GTA IV?

Can you own buildings, houses etc or get protection money from extorting businesses or anything like the previous ones...

At the moment all I seem to be doing is flie swatting for other people getting measily payments, does Roman ever become the Don?

Thanks, Chris.

No you don't own properties like before. You don't really need much money anyway as there is nothing to buy except weapons etc which can be found in the maps anyway.

You do get paid more later on as the game progresses. If you wait next to ATM's and kill people when they have withdrawn money you get more than you would the average pedestrian.

Re: Info for a newbie

You can own a few places as safehouses but they don't generate funds or anything. In the mission Holland something where you have to choose to kill either Playboy X or Dwayne, if you kill Playboy X Dwayne will give you Playboys apartment as a thank you and become your friend. His friend benefit is he'll give you a couple of goons who'll back you up in missions etc. Handy for some of the tougher shoot out missions.
