Corrupt/missing Gamesave - Whos had it?

I just have. I'd completed the story mode, and was starting on the flying rats, had about 50 of them done.

Funnily enough, it happens AFTER i patched.

didnt just corrupt my gta4 saved games but whole of my ps3. had to full format my ps3. if i was you i would try other games as well see if it works

so far not a problem for me, Ive not compleated the story mode yet only just got onto the second island, I always save the game at the safehouse before leaving the game as well as having the autosave dunno if that makes a difference.

mate i feel for you

it ****ed up my whole ps3, tried uninstaling games and putting them back on and it still didnt want to work. did quick format and installed everything back on and still gave problems. so what i did in the end was full format and that did fix it. its only way to fix corrupted hard drive, lost all my saved games and everything else on machine.
not putting this game back into my ps3 until there is proper patch

Yep was playing Monday night all of a sudden PS3 turned off and I am now waiting till Monday for the courier to drop me off my new PS3 which works. Then have to wait up to 2 weeks for them to post me my GTA4 cd back as it's still stuck in the cd drive...

I reali feel for people that have lost game files.

I havent had a problem (and i hope by posting in here im not jinxing myself.....)

I always have 2 alterantive safehouse game saves that i save between before switching the console off.

I also have an external hard-drive that I copy save game files too once a week.

that way if anything is lost, and the worst happens, i get a new ps3 and can transfer it all across.

Hope they resolve the problem so others dont have to go through what people like hulligan has!!!

I haven't had it yet but I always have 3 saves and back my main one up to my ipod nano...

I had autosave on and saved it myself before turing the game off but when trying to load the game up the next time it wouldn't work, kind of like because there were 2 save files it didn't know which one to load. As soon as I deleted one of them everything worked again.
