Just wondering if you folk can help me here.

My question, I think the PS3 will have to go and we’ll get a ps2, is, can people on here help me generate a list of games, any games, that DON’T require the use of the analogue sticks (she realy doesn’t like these), I don’t mind if they are used in the game, but, games where you can get by enough, running jumping around, driving etc without them?

Does the PS2 play PS1 games?

Bit of background;

My sister is mentally handicap and used to love playing the old PS1, I have asked this question on here before about which console to buy over Christmas, ended up getting one of those megadrive emu things, bit poor to be fair but for 20 pound you can’t complain.

Basically, we bought a PS3 the other day, with little big planet (thought this would be like an old school platform game), a load of megadrvie games (almost impossible to switch between games), and need for speed (she likes driving games, this one is difficult to say the least).


Also, I believe the PS3 is just too complicated all round.

We have considered a Wii with a classic controller, but, it looks like the games for this need to be downloaded, meaning that they will have to be found in the hard drive meaning chaning between games may be difficult. I may adk about this in the Wii rooms.

The PS2 does indeed play PS1 games, and I think most if not all should be compatible.

In terms of games that might be suitable for her without having to use the analogue sticks for control, I think that might be a bit of a difficult question to answer because some games allow you to use the d-pad for normal control whereas others might have other functions assigned to the d-pad, like an inventory system or something.

Maybe it might be a good idea to rent games before you buy them so your sister can see if she likes them first. I think Blockbuster still rent PS2 games, and I think there may also be some web based companies that do rentals too.
