LCD tv with component; some ps2 games look good, some poor? Why?

LCD tv with component; some ps2 games look good, some poor? Why?
I have an lcd tv, ps2 connected via component. Some games look good (gta liberty city stories and gran turismo 4) whilst others (PES 08 and dynasty warriors) look really pixelated and poor. Is this a tv related issue or is it something to do with the ps2 and lcd technology?
