My brother has his PS2 hooked up to a 26" Hitachi LCD HD Ready TV(not 1080p).

He currently has it connected to the TV with the Red White Yellow cables..(is that component or composite? I never remember).

Anyway, when he's on, lets say, Fifa 09 on it..the menu looks very blurred to me, the players in game less so, but it still isnt as sharp as it should be.

Do you think this is likely to be a problem with the PS2 itself? Laser or something?

Or is it more likely to be the fact it is a 26" HD ready LCD TV? Would he have better results if he maybe went through a component/composite(which ever isnt red/white/yellow : P)? Assuming you can actually get those for a PS2.

You definitely need to get hold of a component video cable.

That has five plugs on it coloured red/green/blue and red/white. You are currently using the composite video cable.

So..component cables then. Are they a case of "buy cheap, get crap" or is it a bit more towards the HDMI theory of "anything under 5m thats cheap will do a fine job"?
