HELP!!! ps2 signal loss with component

when i use my ps2 with component cable on my HDTV evernow and again i lose signal then it goes back on again, can anybody help me out why its doin this?

Is it a Monster component cable? If so, make sure those phono jacks (very tight) are on properly and also check that the cable is in properly in the back of the PS2 (obvious, I know).

Also check on the PS2 that the output is set to component and not RGB.
