New PS2 SCPH-90001 Warnings!!

I just recently waisted $130 dollars by buying a new PS2. I was not aware that a new model had come out for the PS2 Slim and now I am really mad. I had originally intended to mod it the traditional way by blocking the sensors, Swap Magic, and so forth, but it is built different. Had I known I would have settled for a used one with an older model. This is a warning for those intending to buy new PS2's. You can still mod this with a mod chip though I just wish I would have known before I went out and bought one. If anyone figures out a different way to mod it please tell me.

Re: New PS2 SCPH-90001 Warnings!!

Nonsense. I purchased a satin silver SCPH-90001 two weeks ago and only needed two sensor blocks to make it work with Swap Magic. In fact, SCPH-90001 is even better than the previous model, because there is no need to void the warranty to open it up; no sensors need to be blocked on the inside, only the two usual ones under the lid.

Note: the sensor switch in the front corner of the console is shaped slightly differently, but the Swap Pro Tool v4 has a new piece that fits it perfectly. The old ones will still fit too, just need a piece of tape to support it.

Really? I just assumed that because I couldn't find the other sensors it would not work so I didn't try anything. Would you mind posting a picture with you top open and circles circling the right spots. Can it be done with just tissues and/or tape?

Question Re: New PS2 SCPH-90001 Warnings!!

I too have the model SCPH 90001 and quite confused about which tool to use. I have ordered magic switch pro v4 and so far I know the sensor at the front has to be blocked. The gentleman above posted that only 2 tools are required so I'm guessing the disc brake tool is not needed? Which tool is needed for the top right (where the lid is), since I know there is a sensor inside there next to the laser. Any advice if you've done this would be great.
Cheers mates!

Re: New PS2 SCPH-90001 Warnings!!

Finally got another cuz of the price drop and figured it out. You only need tool A, B, and C from magic switch pro v4. C is kinda hard cuz you have to move a metal plate, and A isn't secure.
