PS2 optical output, need help!

Has anyone connect PS2 to 5.1 speakers? I don't know how to do it.....? Help...help!

Is that possiable to connect PS2 via optical cable to a DVD player, then use Dvd player as a decoder to generate 5.1 Dolby surround sound?

I am seriously interest buying Sony DVP - NS400D, but don't know is that possiable or need an amplifier to do the job!

Any comments will be welcome

Yes i have. You just get a digital optical cable and connect it to the amp/reciever.

On a normal dvd player, no. You need to have an amp or receiver.

That is a normal dvd player so it won't help you get DD5.1 sound from the PS2.

could try the str475 receiver. I have it as part of the htk475 system. It as a digital optical input that will suit the ps2 and if you purchase another dvd player in the future it has a co axial input as well. Just make sure that any future purchase has a co axial output to match. Amp is a bit bulky maybe but it does the job fine
