Hey guys,

When i try to play San andreas on my PS2 It gets to the loading screen gets about half way and then freezes and says error reading the disc,

I've tried cleaning the disc but still no joy

Anyone any thoughts

There are no visible scratches on the disc

Has you played this game without any problems before?

If not it could be a bad pressing - it's rare but happens.

Otherwise, could be a hardware fault within the PS2, which I'd be no good at diagnosing. Might only affect certain types of disc - I've heard of several cases where DVD based games (silver discs) can be awkward, but the CD based games (blue/purple discs) play without a problem.

Might be something as simple as a dirty lens - at least that would be an easy solution.
