Swap-Magic 3.6 Plus

Does anyone know of a definitive list of NTSC PS2 games compatible with Swap-Magic (PAL) v.3.6+?

I ask because I've just bought the MGS Essential Collection and had a weird problem. The MGS3: Subsistence disc works fine with Swap-Magic but the MGS2: Substance one doesn't want to load at all. I keep on getting an "invalid PS2 disc" message whatever settings I use.

The game looks to be in very good condition and clearly been well looked after so I think it unlikely to be a damaged/faulty disc problem. I'm wondering if, as this collection was just a re-issue rather than new versions, if any other PAL region users have had problems with the original NTSC MGS2: Substance or even MGS2: Sons Of Liberty when using Swap-Magic (3.6+).

Thanks for any help.

Re: Swap-Magic 3.6 Plus

Unfortunately with a bit of extra searching I've found the answer at afterdawn.com. Apparently MGS2: Substance is one of those few PS2 DVD9 dual layer game and these are known not to work with any version of Swap-Magic. Never mind, I bought the Essentials Collection mainly for MGS3: Subsistence so not being able to play the NTSC MGS2: Substance disc is just mildly annoying.

If anbody else is interested I can post a link to that Swap-Magic working/non-working list, it might be useful to spread it around a bit.

Re: Swap-Magic 3.6 Plus

Yes, I would be interested, thanks for your offer. I haven't been able to get Swap Magic yet due to some issues with my (Slim) PS2, but it is something I am looking at once I can get an alternative method to work.
