Red Faction is good if you want a fps.

[Turbo Dragon]

My opinion, if its FPS on PS2 then I seriously rate XIII (Thirteen)

Comic book style animation FPS, and I still fire it up now periodically, well worth a look.

But if its top-down shooter there was a a PS1 called R-Type that people raved about, never played it personally but know a lot of people who think it the nuts...

R-Types on the PS1 is good (contains arcade perfect versions of R-Type 1 & 2).
