Fault On Slim-Line PS2 - help

Hi,

My kids knocked my PS2 off and it fell about 8 inches to the floor. The game carried on working for about 10 mins then froze.

I have tried rebooting it and I get the swirling stars but no sound then the "PLAYSTATION" word appears with sound. I am sure that there is usually sound with the swirling stars.

The disk spins but fails to load. I tried another disk and this gets a bit further and the game logo appears plus a loading bar which then freezes part way through loading.

Any clues? Is it the laser?
