Best PS2 online games?

Hello all,
I have had my PS2 online for about a year, and have spent most of that time playing Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, which is great fun.
I'd like to try others - what would you recommend?
I tried Burnout (can't remember which version as it belonged to my brother) but it just crashes my machine.
Also tried Splinter Cell but struggled to find anyone to play against.

At the time of writing, 25 people have looked at this and not one has recommended any online game for PS2.
Does that say all I need to know?

LOL!

Hammered Socom 2 for nearly 3 years - even after Socom 3 came out. Though nowadays there aren't many people playing it now (mainly a few dutch guys).

Not sure what the new Socom (Combined Assault) is like - the PS3 intervened.

TOCA 3 was my last online driving game - there was plenty of players on that as the servers are global. Might be worth a look.

Bound to be loads playing Pro Evo too.

Apart from that - it'll probably slim pickings.

pro evo 6 is superb online,just make sure you play someone with 2bars or above.

I gave TOCA 3 a try.
Then logged off and tried to learn the courses a bit, as I had got my ar*e kicked!
Nice not to be shooting someone for a change.
It is pretty tough out there, but I haven't lost all my races.
