Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

This Friday!? I didn't realise it was out so soon! I would get it but I'm mindful of it appearing on the 360 at some point. I already 4 guitars (2 on the PS2 and 2 on the 360) and I'd prefer to get it for the 360. Anyone know if it's due to appear?

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

You can get it for £25 on play.com which aint too bad if you compare that to price of the song packs u can get on the 360 guitar hero. Havent heard anything about them releasing it on 360, but I could see them doing a similar thing to whats happening with tomb raider anniversary, perhaps being download only.

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

Some people have already received their copy from Gameplay (I'm still at work so I don't know if mine has turned up yet).

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

Good to hear, the reviews I've read so far haven't inspired me to buy it.

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

I feel a little let down with this game now for a few reasons, not just being the fault of the actual game:

- Going back to using a PS2 guitar compared to the 360 Xplorer seems a bit like a downgrade and the buttons are bit clunkier and the shape doesnt feel as nice.
- The PS2 doesnt have the extra appeal of getting achievement points from 100% songs or unlocking all extras, which kinda lowers my enthusiasm for the game.
- I know I hyped up the game saying look at the song list, but I actually wouldnt say the song list is that impressive. Apart from the ones named above, a few others and play with me - by extreme (which I remember from the first bill & ted movie), theres not enough to keep me interested and it seems that theres a lack of decent guitar solos too.
- It really does feel like the developers have been really lazy with this release when you look at "the store" on the game - only one extra character (death with lame 3D glasses), no additional costumes and mainly replicas of existing guitars from the previous guitar heros.
Thats all I'm going to say for now. But I'll carry on playing it, it may grow on me like how gh2 has...

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

It's precisely for the first two reasons why I'd like to wait for the 360 version, I just don't think the PS2 version will have the same appeal.

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

This could have been a load better, but it's still great fun.

It's too short (I've finished Hard after a couple of hours ) and it's not different enough from GH2. They could have used some new venues or characters or something...

Turning Japanese is ace

Re: Guitar Hero: Rocks The 80s

Became hooked on Guitar Hero through the 360 version.

But got this today with quite a good deal to fill in the blanks so to say...

Guitar Hero Rocks the Ages + guitar £45 Argos
Guitar Hero I £10 Currys.

Quite pleased to have all the extra tracks but the controller is much more toy looking than the 360 one so kind of waiting for it to get dark before playing behind closed curtains *rotf*
