possible psp for sale..

hi guys, i bought a psp for my little boy for xmas and he hasnt played it for more than 5 minutes...his sister got a ds and thats all he wants to play so im thinking of selling the psp and getting him a ds instead, i think the psp is a bit to advanced for him.

ive bought an assesory pack to go with it and some games: god of war, tekken, sega collection, ratchet and clank, need for speed and burnout.

i thought about seeing if shop would refund my money as it hasnt really been used and is still in packaging as new but i dont think they will.

so basically im just wondering what i should be looking to get money wise for this bundle? it is a slim psp, boxed as new with reciept, and the games i mentioned??

thanks

paul

Re: possible psp for sale..

I'd say knock off about 20% of the total you paid...if you bought it recently it'll be a newer un-custom firmware-able PSP and therefore of little interest to a lot of people who'd be looking for that option. Those who don't care about CFW will obviously prefer the newer PSP 3000 with the microphone and better screen.

Plus being brutally honest i'd be a bit afraid of any damage to the analogue nub.

The 3000's screen is something of a moot point between owners regarding being better than/worse than as you probably know Xist. Why would you be afraid of damage to the nub if used for a very small amount of time? I don't find the nub to be very good personally and it's easy to get replacement ones down the line. What will be useful to know is if the screen is 100% scratch-free still.

Since you have opened the box already, if you could look at the date code (8B etc) stamped in the battery compartment and also go in to system information information under the system settings when on and let us know the firmware revision this would most likely be of interest to some on here to know.

hi in regards to the screen its 100% scratch free, when we took it out of the box we immediatly added a screen protector thingy....like i said my son has played it for no longer than 30 minutes in all...ill check the code thing on the battery and update this thread when i get home from work guys ok.

Re: possible psp for sale..

The 3000's screen is indeed hotly contested...however, i'd have to say that if the 3000 was hackable i'd have no problems picking one up and wouldn't be put off by scanlines visible at 3 inches.

I've had some dodgy experiences with the nub and i'm aware that it develops 'personality' quickly given a bit of harsh usage....i'd just assume that a potential buyer would want a nub with no drift. Given the PSP screen is like butter the screen protector is essential for minmal chance of scratches...i cleaned mine very gently with a microfiber cloth before i put a screen protector on, and even then very lightly scuffed the damn thing!

It's the firmware that will be of primary interest to buyers however, and confirmation if it is indeed a PSP 2000 (which i automatically assumed) or the newer 3000.

If you don't mind me asking which shop did you buy it from?

Depending what shop you bought it from I might be able to give you a little tip on getting your money back.
