PSP CFW Question / Datel Tool etc

Sorry for bringing up an old subject. Had a look around on the site but just hoping someone can confirm a couple of things with me.

I used to have a PSP Fat on 1.5 FW which I could obviously update using Custom Firmwares but unfortunately that PSP has given up the ghost. I now have a PSP slim and lite with Official Firmware 3.9.

I have read about the Datel Tool (can also be called pandora battery, correct?) and have watched youtube vids on this etc and it does seem really simple. So i'm guessing with this Datel Tool Battery, i can install the custom firmwares onto Memory Stick and can place my Iso's onto memory stick and can run my games like i used to on my PSP? Does the CFW run CSO files? What's the chances of me bricking the PSP?

Also can someone recommend me a decent sized memory stick for the PSP? And is it better to have a seperate 512mb Magic Stick for use with the Datel Tool?

You can use a magic memory stick as your iso or save card too.

Re: PSP CFW Question / Datel Tool etc

1. Yes a datel tool is basically a pandora battery

2. Yes you will be able to do everything you used to I believe with no probs (as long as you own the original)

3. If you have a tool battery and magic memory card made, if you accidently brick it, you can unbrick it with them.(just press x instead of turning the power off when the update has completed.

4. I use a 512mb for the pandora kit I have, I use a hotwire system launcher for psp/slim.
I have two 4gb cards, which I use for my single and double disc games, and one 8gb card which I use for my 3+disc games and avis of my dvds
You can get official sony ones from ebay cheap now, 2gb for a fiver del, 4gb for a tenner del, 8gb for about £20 del.

Finally theres some useful guides and info here:
PSP Pandora Kit for AVForums members
& here:

Hotwire info and buy here:
http://www.bargainmemorycards.co.uk/...-slim-hot-wire
&
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-Direct.../dp/B0013IVHO6

Hope this helps

Yes a Datel tool is the same as a Pandora battery, and can be used with a magic memory stick to flash your slim to CFW

CFW will play both ISO and CSO’s

There is always a risk when re-flashing any device, but this method is definitely the safest

Personally I have both a small 512mb magic memory stick and a large 4gb one for games, movies and music.

Play still have some of the best prices on Memory Stick Duo’s

did i miss anything?
