MLB The Show 08

Just posted this in the PS3 forum too, but I'll add it here incase anyone gets it

Just got this for PSP and loving it so far - not really played baseball before!

...

Anyway, back to the game - as I say, I dont really know the ins-and-outs of baseball apart from the basics. I'm struggling to hit the ball (sure the system is the same as the PS3 version)... do I need to use the analogue stick to aim the bat (i.e. a low ball, hold the stick down to hit), or is it just timing?

Seems to be a bit vague in the help department!

Love the RTTS mode though, I'm about 4 games into the Spring training... do you then get kicked to the minor leagues after spring?

Plus, I have no idea on the positions!? I first chose to be SP (secondary pitcher?), but got sick of that, so went for RF which I cunningly thought would be right-field

So, whats the best positions to go for? As RF, I get into back between 5th and 9th, which is fine I spose, but am I missing out on a more exciting game by playing in another position?

Thanks!

I played the previous version on this game and if its the same again (which i think it is) there are several types of batting. one version you swing using the analogue stick (this is for experts) but other types of batting can just be button presses , where you just need to time it right (Easier). Also for position I would play short stop (SS). Alot of these guys start off the innings and also get alot of action in the field.

Hope this helps

Yea cheers, I restarted a few days ago as SS and its been much better - made a great play earlier - picked up a grounder near 2nd, ran to 2nd base to get the 1st->2nd base runner out, then quickly threw to 1st base for the double play!

Was a great feeling!
