My little brother just gave me his PSP and I'm looking to have some fun with it, however, my Firmware seems to be 2.01, and upon googling it there seems to be a few issues with it.

I'd like to play emulators etc and other such things, what advice would you guys give me so I can play these and backups etc without bricking it.

If you intend to run emulators and game backups you'll need custom firmware, we’re currently on version 3.90m33-2

you have two options to get CFW, put your name down here and eventually you'll get all you need to load CFW.

or if you can't wait then purchase a Datel Tool (amazon) and I’ll let give you all the details on how you can create your own magic memory stick to load CFW on your PSP
