Remote play - Error, WLAN disconnected

Just upgraded to 3.90 (thanks Xist)

Trying to connect for remote play to my PS3.

Ive set it up correctly using the correct serial no's (ssid's ?) and RTFM

Will not connect and comming up with the error WLAN disconnected

1. Is this the WLAN of the psp or the ps3.

2. Does it make any differance that I am using a wired connection ie Homeplugs ?

Please forgive if this seems like a silly question and if I havent explained it very well, also my apologies.

Regards

Dave

Re: Remote play - Error, WLAN disconnected

h there, seen your reply in my thread

Am i right in thinking your not using a wireless router as you have homeplugs? i think you need a wireless network to connect to the ps3 using remote play. This is just a guess but i assume when the ps3 is connected using a wired method the wireless networking part of it is turned off.

So to connect to the ps3 you would need a wireless router that is also connected to the home plugs, so the psp can connect to the router (via wireless) then the router would connect to the homeplugs, then the homeplugs would connect to the ps3.

bare in mind this is just a guess.....

also ssid's are the name of the name of a wireless network, since you dont know this it makes me wonder about you having a wireless network

Thanks for the first part of your reply Ed, but I'm not sure what you mean about your wondering about my wireless network ?

Its just that the drop outs were so frequent and the signal strength so poor that I opted for home plugs. So I use my wireless modem router as a hub for my homeplug set up.

SSID's, I thought they were Russian Subs !

Re: Remote play - Error, WLAN disconnected

i just ment that i wasnt sure you had a wireless router, maybe just a normal one. so you do have a wireless router?

i think what you need to do, is connect the psp to the wireless router, then the signal should go down the homeplugs....maybe......

Re: Remote play - Error, WLAN disconnected

on the slim and lite it is a switch on the top of the psp - slide it to the right to turn wlan on - not sure where it is is you have the old model.
