Wireless Dead

My PSP can no longer connect to the access point (which is working as my 360 and PS3 work).....

I can't recall whether there should be a light on when I switch the wireless button on?? Should there?

Very annoying as I like streaming films to my bedroom sometimes and watching them on the PSP!

Also, this might sound dumb, but I got no manual with my PSP> When I switch it off it goes into sleep mode, rather than shut down. Errrr...how to I actually switch it off??

Re: Wireless Dead

If you wish to `put your psp to sleep` simply click the switch up and then down to hold (I always have mine in my man bag so I dont want it switching on accidentally)

If you wish to shut it down...hold the switch up for a few seconds and then click it down to hold.

Have you made sure your wireless lan switch hasnt been moved (right hand side)

I would also link it back to your ps3 and re connect them

I also use my psp and ps3 to watch the gadget show via play tv....

The psp is a fantastic bit of kit

Re: Wireless Dead

Is it the fat or slim? (ie PSP100x or PSP200x / PSP300x)? You can check the model if you remove the battery. It will tell you what version it is.

Regardless of that if you switch on the WLAN (on the fat it's a switch on the lower left hand side / the slim has it on the top next to the usb port on the left side) it should give you a green light (on bottom left) when scanning or when trying to access the access point. If it finds other access points try changing the name of your access point or the security. If there is no green light then most likely your wlan hardware is dead. You can get it fixed if you know someone into this stuff...

As for shutdown. Keep holding the power button up till it switches off and the green led (on the right) goes off as well...
